KC clearly has more talent but ZZ sparks this team and they respond whenever he is on the floor. He’s got that “it factor”. Also I’ll take ZZ for this team because he makes his FTs, turns it over less often and gets more steals on defense. Overall ZZ is better for this team and that’s disappointing to say because I had high hopes for KC.

KC is a more accurate shooter from 3 and from 2, gets more assists, and commits fewer fouls.

I am excited about ZZ's development. After he gets another year of experience and improves his BB "IQ", he will be amazing to watch.

They actually shoot the exact same percentage from 3. And I don’t really care about the fouls. ZZ pressures the ball more so he’s usually going to foul more. Those will lessen as he gains experience. ZZ also has a better true shooting percentage and offensive rating. KC shoots 57% FTs in conference play while ZZ ups his to 91%. KC is an atrocious free throw shooter.

Actually they’re even from 3. ZZ is by far a better FT shooter and if you take their stats (points, rebounds, assists, turnovers) per minutes played they’re pretty similar.

This is actually an interesting question. There is one area in which Chandler has a definite advantage, and that is 2-point shooting. Chandler can create his own shot better, he can finish at the rim better, and he has a mid-range game that Ziegler doesn’t have just yet.

On the other hand Ziegler has a big advantage in free throw percentage, so with a lead in late game situations you would probably prefer the ball in Ziegler’s hands.

In most other statistical categories you would get similar production from them.

Chandler averages 30 minutes per game, Ziegler averages 19.3. If you adjust Zieglers’s numbers based on 30 minutes per game and assume similar production, here’s what you get (I had to adjust formatting to make it readable):

I think teams have tape on KC and now have a plan for him, that may happen to ZZ next year. He's flying under the radar now but I do believe Beard had set up his final D last night with 3 bigs waiting on ZZ with their hands up in the lane. He was not going to let him beat him. I hope he doesn't have a sophomore slump next year and hope Edwards comes in and balls out.

At this point I feel he is better. A better team player and not as excitable as Chandler seems to be. I am not sure but I think at this point he a better shooter than Chandler. Chandler is just too green and has more confidence in himself than he actually has ability and experience to back-up.

This is an ongoing theme as it relates to many (most) Memphis players. You call it growing up. I on the other hand, call it lack of being taught how to play the game as has been lacking in the Memphis school system for my life of following west Tn high school basketball.. There system teaching/entourages individual kids to be just that, individually good.
