1. Steely Dan.

You are correct, sir. As well known in these parts, I'm a big fan. Got some of their memorabilia over the years, tshirts, flasks, etc. When they are on tour, I go see them. I organize parties for the fans when they are in Tampa or Orlando. If you ask any musician, even some of the young kids just starting out in actual performing bands, they will tell you they are fans, too.

Their music is ageless, complicated, melodic, ironic, and overall just groovey. Don't knock them because they are old. We all will be, one day.

2. Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

I admit that "Relax" was one of my favorite songs to dance to while in college. Past that, I couldn't tell you anything about them.

3. Wham.

If you deny that you liked them when "Wake me up" (or whatever its called) originally came on the radio, then you are a big fat liar. You may hate them now because of their gayness, but the song was peppy and fun and you know you liked it back then.

4. Right Said Fred.

Wrong said LG.

5. Lawrence Welk.

Nah, even that's too old for me. Now, go back to Dorsey or Miller or some of the big band sounds of the 40's, I'm in.
I'm a huge fan of George Michael's solo work. However, I can say with a clear conscience that, with the notable exception of "Careless Whispers", I always thought Wham was crap.

Hatvol (borrowing from a variety of genres):

Weezer
Nine Inch Nails
Strawberry Alarm Clock
Johnson Brothers
Zeppellin
Not big on Weezer and Zeppelin's overrated. NIN and The Brothers Johnson are awesome. The Strawberry Alarm Clock was good for their genre and time.

Thanks to XM I still get a dose of Informer every now and then. Sad that I actually know all the words......

IIIrd Base Was one of the most influencial groups of my upper teenage years. To me anyway:rock:

Can remember my senior year in '92 going to the Faith No More and Helmet concert! That was one of the highlights of that year. Maash pit during Helmet! Good times.

Was also the year I discovered the ultimate cheesy garage band, that still plays birmingham and Knoxville to this day 15 years later.............

actually, the fact you can understand, let alone sing along with, whatever that guy is saying is impressive.

didn't 3rd Bass sing 'Pop Goes the Weasel'? great song.

Bel Biv Devo, as well as Boys II Men, are still great, even to this day.

HATS 80s

Talking Heads
The fix
Joe Jackson
Simple Minds
Peter Gabriel

David Byrne is a freakin genius. He's totally nuts, but songs like Take Me to the River, or Psycho Killer, are classic.

Peter Gabriel another example of an excellent musician.

The Wiggles is right on the money. When you have a 5 year old, 1 year old and newborn, The Wiggles tend to take over the CD player and DVD player in my house. If it weren't for TiVO and mp3's I'd never see or hear anything I like for another 18 years.
My 5 year old has thankfully moved beyond the Wiggles which is lucky because I was seriously concerned that they were eventually going to cause my head to explode.

It's like Village People for pre-schoolers only with accents and more gay looking.
