Question to season ticket holders

Don't have time to read through this thread, but I got another one of these emails today. Got one earlier and just ignored it since we already have 4 season tickets and there are just two of us. Sounds like priority ($$level) determines whether or not you get them. Hope this helps someone.

"In appreciation of your support as a Tennessee Fund donor, we would like to offer you a special opportunity to purchase up to two (2) season tickets in the south end zone, either upper or lower level, for the 2016 season with no additional contribution required. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please complete your request before July 28, 2016, through one of the methods below.

Since this opportunity is for the 2016 season only and a contribution is NOT required, the seats will be allocated on a first-received, first-assigned basis while available after we complete priority assignments. We encourage you to take advantage of this chance to entertain clients, family members, friends, or anyone that you would like to bring to the games this season.

NOTE: These seats are NOT renewable and will be dropped from your account following the 2016 season.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this offer, please contact our office at (865) 974-1218. If you have not already, you will also soon receive a hard copy ticket application request form in the mail that can be mailed or faxed back to our office by the deadline.

With your contribution and support of the Tennessee athletics department, you afford Team 120 the opportunity to compete at the highest level and make Neyland Stadium one of the great venues in all of college football. We look forward to seeing you this fall!

GO VOLS!"

typically starts last week of July and goes through first week of August.

I was told last week they were going out middle of July this year. I move at the end of the month and called to change my shipping address to be safe. I was told they charge $25 to change your address on file, which is bull$hit in and of itself, and they didn't want me to have to spend the money and that I should be good to receive them by the 27th when we have to be out of our house. It's pathetic that UT grossly profits off of typing a new address into the system.

$25 sounds reasonable, especially when it goes to a good cause - our VOLS ! Stadium needs some paint anyways that is almost a bucket.

that is ridiculous, disrespectful of the people who support the program, and borderline stealing..I would be outraged if they tried to charge me $25 to type in a few characters on a keyboard.

I'm pretty sure the tickets are shipped from the printing company and it likely costs UT $25 to get this late change into the printer system. That would be a greater risk of your tickets going to wrong address than the UT system.

I would assume this to be correct. The printing company is located in Arkansas I believe and they're shipped directly from there.

I work in ticket sales for a professional sports team, and I can change addresses on file in a matter of 30 seconds. That's hilarious.

It costs $25 to print a new shipping envelope or label? It's still ridiculous regardless of who's implementing the charge.

probably an update to the vendor database is what the charge is for.. I don't know the process but it is not a simple update to UTs season ticket file.

Its ridiculous to pay $3 for a bottle of water or $5 for a soda at Neyland also but it happens a lot.

I agree it's a big charge so I'm not arguing that. But they can do it, no matter who it originates with.

Season tickets are shipped directly from the printer. Once UT sends the "final" address list to the the printer the first week of July, then the printing company charges UT a fee to make any changes to the list, which is passed on to the customer.

Part of the reason for the charge is that once they receive the list, the printer begins printing out the paid UPS labels/envelopes and starts packing tickets in those envelopes. So there's a strong likelihood that your envelope has already been created, packed and sealed, so they have an actual cost in finding an pulling your envelope, printing a new paid label and preparing that for shipping. It's not just "a few keystrokes," it's an actual process with actual costs to the printer.

I'm set to close on my home next week. I was told the same thing. $25 and I told them to piss up a rope. We are moving across town and I know the buyers. My guess is a forwarding address would probably work. We'll see.

Not bad thread until someone started complaining about $25. Just mow someone's yard for about 30 minutes and you can get that $25 back.

Tennessee Fund must have took over the responsibilities of account info online. Use to get on uttix.com and look at past purchases, Season tickets and every purchase I made. All Tennessee Fund tells you is where your season tickets are and no more information.

Again, tickets are shipped directly from the printer and it's their policy and charge, not UT's.

They are shipped via UPS, so having your US Mail forwarded will not forward your tickets.

UT switched to a new provider for ticket and donation management software, so it's now all one system internally. All of the website features have not yet been rolled out, but when they are you will be able to see everything you did before.
