During the game yesterday they were saying the best thing about him is he would be at UT for three years. I think this is BS. Where did this come from? From what I saw yesterday he is more ready for the NBA than Tobias, and we know how that turned out.

yea dykes threw his opinion out there like he knew something and i was very curious as to it. obviously it is entirely too early to tell but physically jarnell is already ready to play in the nba with that body. maybe he stays in school since his brother, and best friend cam clear are here for a few more years so maybe that keeps him here but he will be hearing the rumbling id say. we really dont know enough about the kid or his intentions at this point, but atleast we know we have him for 1.5 years.

Enjoy the ride with this young man in a Vol uni. UT doesn't get players like this all the time. Also, he might want to get his degree and if he pursues it like he did his HS diploma he may stay 3+ yrs and graduate early. Either way if he stays 1.5 or longer he brings a different element to the game for UT. Now if we can get a decent point guard to get him the dayum ball!

I wondered the same thing. Was that Dykes' opinion, or something he gathered by talking to Stokes one-on-one? Interesting to say the least.

Well, if he graduated early, im betting money he had some college courses too (at least I know most at my school did, and we weren't nearly the size of his high schools). If he had even one semesters worth of classes (which wouldn't be that difficult) he could start the fall with a full year of courses under his belt, and have a degree before he is 21.

Tim Duncan stayed four years at Wake Forest. Why not him.

he is a very good student and this may be a possibility i guess only time will really tell. id say we will here more of his intentions and thought process during the summer and heading into next year.

that will be the biggest thing when he starts hearing all the people oh your a top 5 pick blah blah blah. i think we will know something around the start of next year, he will probbaly say no matter what im coming back type of thing, or will say it just depends on the season but if im projected lottery i'll go. i think he will give somebody some info as to his intentions on what he is going to do.

I think they said his Dad said he would be here a minimum of 3 years. I agree though...1.5 years seems more likely.

no they made no reference to any reason why they thought this, i went back and checked on the tivo because i was really curious what dykes thinks he knows. all he said was that i think tennesse has a guy in stokes that will be here for 3 years. maybe he know something we dont but he didnt give any reason as to why. as i said earlier im sure we will know more on his intentions by the beginning of next season.

I read somewhere that his dad made that statement. I'll
see if I can find it.

It was probably someone on here claiming to know something in his epic thread the weeks before his commitment. I think I remember reading that on here
