Question on Florida suspensions

Does it matter and do we want to win without the gators being full strength? UT has a bit of a rocky history when facing backups.

Do we want to win without the gators being full strength? Serious question, do you think Michigan gave an ish about the gators being full strength or not? Do you think UF gave an ish about LSU not having Fournette last year? The answer to both is an emphatic no. Attrition is part of football. You deal with it. At the end of the day, if we beat UF, its a win I and the rest of Vol fans should enjoy.

UF played a backup QB last year. Enough said.

Ya'll do know they'll announce Thursday the suspensions were lifted all practiced Wednesday and will be ready to play Saturday, right? They need some kind of boost, this will be it IMO. Won't make a lot of difference, Vols win.

Does anyone know anything about whether they bring back any of the 10 "credit card gate" kids for the game this weekend?

I heard today that with Irma, that it'll be nearly impossible to finish the investigation before Saturday, meaning they won't play.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard anything different.

If UF is smart, they'll wait until the investigation is done and not play them for UT. If the NCAA finds the suspended players guilty, UF will have to forfeit their wins. That's what I've heard.

If Florida is smart they will play the players. If UF wins they might have to vacate the win, but that does not mean that UT can void the loss. It is a way to stick a knife in our back.

The NCAA has no involvement with this criminal investigation that is on-going. If anything I would think the NCAA would say play them until proven guilty.. for sure, the NCAA is not trying to determine guilt or innocence.

those found guilty by this criminal investigation will never put on the uniform at Florida again IMO. Those found innocent will.

Keep in mind, its been over a month since any of these players have practiced or even worked out on any Florida facilities. Have not been involved in any game planning for this or any other game.

If the investigation ended today none are likely ready to play football. I would be thrilled if all 10 were cleared to play tomorrow and Florida did use them. Talk about not being ready. Would be huge advantage for Tennessee

I wonder if fans are using all these players missing as an excuse to defend their coach for losing games?

Hell, they could play the game with walk-ons and it wouldn't make any difference to me. A win over the gators is always a good feeling

We had backups at 3 key positions for the UF game last season and still won. And nobody would have thrown a pity party for us if we had lost, so I won't cry for the gators if we win.

If you want to call UTs palmer, callaway and George "backups" that's fine w me.

They've beat us with backups for over a decade

Kiss of death.. "Reports out of Gainesville ..Starter and back up quarterback detained for unknown reason at 2:35AM and citing his new zero tolerance policy Coach CPO Sharky suspends both for Tennessee game. Gators will go with Freshman walk on QB Wallace U Pipp against the 21st ranked Vols"

Not the ones I've seen. They aren't like Vol fans. They expect to win. They believe it is their RIGHT to win. They believe it is the coach's responsibility to secure what they are ENTITLED TO and want him gone if he doesn't do it.

UF fans are upset from what I can tell that even with McElwain's two East wins, he hasn't been competitive in the CG... AND they don't like what they perceive as the quality of play and recruiting.

There aren't many Vol fans that wouldn't be pretty satisfied with Jones if he'd just won the East once. Sad that the expectations of the two fanbases are this different.

Don't see them playing.

Probably some real wrongdoing here. UF has to think long term. Not worth it to bring these guys back this year only to have the NCAA come back later and say you walked this situation through.
