Basically everybody is all over me to get engaged soon. Visiting my mom in jersey this week and she actually isn't one to pressure on stuff like that, but she said when i do she wants to give me her ring from a failed engagement.

Don't want to go into too many details but the ring is very nice and expensive.

My only question for the women is would that be weird do u think for my gf? Its certainly nothing i could afford at this point.

I'm not a chic, but if its expensive and nice, give it to her but NEVER tell her. Get it and use one of those memory erasers from men in black or something. Expensive ring=lots of felacio and more

Then the answer is obvious simple my friend. If a woman answered that you would get 5 pages of dr.phil emotional crap.

Yeah I have a lot of friends who gave inherited rings to their fiancee's.

And then I can use the money I have been saving for better stuff.

And I shouldn't say failed engagement, they are still together just no plans to marry and my mom would rather just pass it to me.

I wouldn't be upset if it were me. But each girl is different. I don't think it'd be weird.

Would it be weird? Nah. However, it's usually a good idea to make sure your gf will like the style of ring. If things go according to plan she will look at the ring everyday for the rest of her life so it usually helps if she likes it. If she doesn't, she will let you know one day.

Well they just aren't gonna get married and my mom would rather give it to me.

It's not that I can't afford a nice ring, just not this nice.

when you go look with her, better steer her toward an emarld cut, so when you give her your Mom's she's happy

2 questions...

Does the gf know about the ring?

Would you want to hide the fact that the ring is the result of a failed engagement?

Well I wouldn't hide the fact it was passed down to me. I think she has seen it, my mom usually doesn't wear it.

And I clarified the failed engagement thing around post four or so.
