How much does it cost you, on the average, to attend a home game if you spend one or two nights?
Ticket price, hotel/motel room, gas, food, etc. Ballpark figure.

Usually, about $300 for a pair of tickets, $500 for a decent hotel downtown (depending on the opponent), $100 for gas, dinners and lunches are about another $200, and then I always have to take the wife shopping...so at a bare minimum, $1100, but have hit closer to $2000 before.

And I do it 3 or 4 times a year. We have season tickets now but I'm sure it averages out to be the same.

I fly from from CA. Usually book my flight 3-4 months in advance for about $300.00. I usually fly into Nashville and grab a rental car for around $60.00 or $70.00 plus $30.00 to fill up - total $100.00. I have friends in Knoxville and stay with them, so no hotel costs. I usually bring $200.00 to spend on food/drinks. I usually get a ticket from a friend for face value - $100.00.

Total of about $700.00.

Coming from Memphis, spending for 3 of us - $700- $800 for tix and 2 nights at Holiday Inn. This includes gas and meals. Have done this for past 4-5 years but probably will not continue beginning next year.

Flight from Grand Cayman or Northern Indiana. Depends where I'm at that Friday. Fuel for the plane. I have a condo I keep in Knoxville so no hotel expense technically. I have a box at the stadium. Its a significant investment to see my Vols.

Yes, I'd fire him.

Yeah. My wife usually doesn't go with me

Yea they're not down for crashin at the frat house. Have to have that hotel. Dinners are more expensive, and the Vol shop costs twice as much lol. My wife doesn't get the t shirt, she wants the damn $100 bibs and all that other orange girly $hi+.

I went to the UF game with my brother in 2014. We drove up, watched the game, drove right back home. Probably because we lost but still.. It was way cheaper.

Edit- actually I just remembered I dropped $75 on a Columbia fleece with a T on it because it was abnormally cold.

That's why I roll solo. Plus I tend to imbibe a little bit at the tailgates

$0 starting in 2017 as long as Butch is the coach. Because I won't be going.

If enough fans stop going to the games, the university will get the message.

Other than getting old, for some years now I have said " why should I spend the time and money and overall effort of go to a game when the team just don't put forth the effort or in the case of some players, don't seem to care. After watching the first half of a UCLA game a few years ago, I just went to the car and waited on son, team showed little effort. After suffering through the first half of Bowling Green last year in Nashville, was glad for the lighting delay, just went to the car and waited on son. Poor effort, and some just didn't seem to care ( when something dumb happens I expect some emotion from someone, didn't see it). Made the decision to never go to a game again. Watch on TV, but never go again. Team shows passion only now and then, not like I do, all the time. Its just too much for me to handle anymore. I have been with this team all year, S.C. game started to let doubt slip in, then blamed it on the hurd mess. (Butch's fault for letting the tale wag the dog) After last night, looks like only a few cared after the going got tough. Feel sorry for Dobbs, Barnett and a few others. The season was summed up on our last play on offense. Needing 4 yrds. for a first down and throwing a line of scrimmage pass and watching the running back run straight out of bounds, then throwing up hands in disbelief.

Flight is approx 1500-2000 and I am NOT paying that under current regime much less the 2000 or so dollars extra I would incur.

Drive down and back from Ohio, $100. Hotel, $300. Tickets, $200-300. Food, drink, tailgating, Vol Shop, $200-500. Guestimate $800-1200. It's always a good time.

Worked out the numbers last night on this very question but I did it for the season. Real close to $10,000 and only coming from Bama. I just can't justify it any longer and for entertainment my wife says it makes me miserable.

Thanks everyone. I knew it was expensive but I had no idea it was costing everyone
the amounts you are spending to go to UT home games and have to watch bad
Butch Jones football.

I'm in gallatin and the drive takes me about 3 hours each way. You can make the trip affordable if you watch your spending and make some sacrificies. I've attended every game this year both home and away. The 330 cbs games have helped tremendously for this year as I am able to drive up and back easily on gameday.
A pair of season tickets with cushioned chairbacks: 765
Fuel to each home: 30
Parking: 25
Food: 24 in neyland 35 for breakfast and dinner.
Bristol: 2 nights for a house on vrbo 240. 2 sideline tickets 260. 150 for souvenirs. No clue on food.
UGA: ticket 100, food 40 for food, 40 for gas, free parking.
A&M: tickets 500, parking 20, hotel and airfare was free, 100 for car rental and gas, about 300 on food.
USC: 50 for ticket, 100 for hotel, 60 for food, 50 for fuel, and 25 parking.
Vandy: 150 for tickets, free parking, 10 on fuel(travel and generator). 40 on food all for tailgating.
