If any of these activists were "close friends", that would be different. That is why they call it "discretionary spending".

Whatever keeps these people from pushing your buttons I suppose. If I have an actor on my do-not-watch list, it's usually b/c I think he stinks as an actor. I don't need to fall back on their activism as a reason to exclude them from my viewing preferences.

When they open their mouths, it usually takes 30 seconds or less for them to reveal how classless and intellectually simple they are. I've just learned to tune them out. They're not worth getting worked up over.

Movies/TV shows are easy to deal with since the actor and their political message are often not presented in the movie/show. Concerts are a bit different. I'm there for a good time, why drag nutty (left or right) commentary into it. It's more annoying than anything else.

I'm sure Eddie Vedder would get annoyed if his accountant spewed right wing crap to him every time he was doing his books. He'd probably find a new accountant.

I agree. It's hard to go into a Dixie Chicks- or Kanye West-type rant in the middle of a movie w/o it being scripted.

I'm not an accountant if that's what you are suggesting.

Just picking an example of someone you pay for one thing and they end up ranting about something unrelated to their core service.
