It's been 30 years since I graduated from UT, and I am kind of embarrassed that since then, due to distance and busy-ness, I have only been to a single home game several years ago.

But I am bringing my daughter to come see the UK game on Nov 10. There wasn't much to pick from, but I just purchased a couple tickets in the lower Sect R. From the map, this looks like a pretty good section; is the atmosphere and the view of the action on the field pretty good from here?

We will be staying in a hotel about 20 min away from the stadium in East Knoxville. Any recommendations about driving my car vs Uber from the hotel to the stadium and back?

Thanks much for any inputs.

Your seats in R should be very good. That is the home sideline, and assuming you aren't under the overhand from the upper deck, you'll have a good view of the jumbotron from there.

Regarding driving vs. Uber -- it really just depends on preference. I frequently stay at the Strawberry Plains exit, and drive into downtown and park for relatively cheap ($20) and enjoy the restaurants and bars downtown before and after the game. There is plenty of parking in the garage and public lots downtown. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from there to the stadium.

I went to the Florida game & stayed about 20 minutes outside of Knoxville and Ubers were quoted at $45 ONE WAY. I never get those prices even living in Nashville.

We ended up parking downtown about an hour before gametime for $20 and then paid $10 to take the trolley both ways at Market Square that dropped us off in front of the stadium. I would say do that.

Uber will cost you about 4x what parking around the stadium will cost. Depending upon how long you want to stay after the game, is either use a shuttle or park at UT.

What row in R? We are in S. Great seats. And will be in shade before anyone else. That part shouldn’t matter in November

We are in row 13.

Thanks for the Uber and parking inputs. I think it is a no brainer to drive in an park.

The shuttle from the Knoxville East Fairfield Inn that left at noon from the hotel was $20 per person, so instead my daughter and I caught an Uber which was only $16 each way.

I forgot to ask if you are on Volnation, but if you are reading this, thanks Chuck and your gang for inviting us to tailgate with you on the upper level of G10 before the game. We had a great time meeting all of you, hanging out, and sipping on some (uhhh...a lot of...) Jack.

BTW, I've been away from TN for 30 years now, and have been all over the US and to a few other countries and can say that TN has some of the friendliest people anywhere. No place on earth has ever felt as much like home as TN. Looking very forward to moving back to east TN after retirement in a few years.
