Question about Squirrel White

Didn't seem that way to me. In 23 when Thornton and McCoy were limited SW was the primary target catching 67. 24 was a different story with Thornton, McCoy and Brazzell being targeted more.

I'm not saying he wasn't targeted or didn't catch balls. His RAC went down and the majority of his catches were body catches vs hands and falling to his knees after almost every catch. Compared to his style of play his freshman year, where he was a little more productive after the catch. Maybe he was banged up for 2 years, but it seemed like he had developed a bad habit of body catching and immediately falling down. It's possible he was scared of contact due to injury, but it was for 2 seasons in a row.

i watched the replay and saw both drops, again, they also start talking about the drops when he makes the 55 yard catch. again feel free to turn it on and use your eyes
You're simply wrong. You were wrong when you said he had 4 or 5, then you were wrong when you said he 2 drops in the 1Q when he was targeted only once. You're just wrong.

Chas 2nd target was clearly overthrown

Sorry he left. Hope he does well. This whole system of players chasing paychecks is sad to see for someone like myself, at 75 years old, longtime fan of the old way in NCAA sports. Please don’t waste keystrokes thinking you’re enlightening me about “ how it really was..”.
When I was still playing High School ball and getting “ interest “ from Bama, one of the first things that came up in the conversation was “ envelopes “ slipped under the door of players dorm rooms on the night before a game. Perhaps it’s the “ Portal thing” that bothers me the most.
I don’t know. Ah well…
GO BIG ORANGE..!!! 👍
Anyone that is in the workforce, is chasing a paycheck. I don’t fault any man for wanting to be a provider.

Anyone have any idea why he transferred? Did the staff nudge him towards transferring or was he upset about something in the program?

He looked great against Alabama and I truly wish him all the best.
Nice nickname, but nothing special at WR. No offense to the kid.

I don’t understand why we’re talking about White leaving and not Nimrod. Seems to me the better guy is at USF playing for Golesh.
Different level of opponent too. Sorry but I never saw Nimrod as a SEC Wr. White was outstanding in the first half at Bama in ‘23 Saban doubled him in the 2nd half.

Heupel chose to invest in current WR class & upcoming guys. I can’t say I blame him.

Think he asked for more money and more touches
It mystifies me how people still don't understand that there is a new motivation in town for players to want to transfer. We're still using the old paradigm of playing time, didn't get along in the locker room, didn't like the coaches, etc ETC. He has got to shake yourself out of this and realize that when someone won offers you a brinks truck full of money compared to what you're making, then you would change jobs too wouldn't you? Obviously it's not always the case, but it's a business decision. Squirrel may not have any chance of playing professional football outside of college. He's not stupid to go out there and make as much as he can while he can make it.

I watch the FSU Alabama highlight video of all the plays. All that I saw was a bomb throne to a streaking squirrel white who caught it and wait for it... Immediately fell to the ground. I would be glad to have him, but we are not going to miss him that much.

He has a child and wanted A LOT more money than Tennessee was willing to pay. I don't blame anyone. Someone was willing to pay more. We have a ton of young talented guys that we gotta budget for.

Happy for him, but tbf, Nimrod almost has more yards in 1 game at USF than he did all last year at UT.

I do suspect that one reason so many WRs were looking for other places to go at the end of last season was they didn't like playing with Nico. Weird how we were struggling to get WRs for awhile and now all the of the sudden we're not, and the only thing that changed was the QB.
Agree, Nico just doesn’t carry himself like a QB. Joey has already been way more visible and accessible. Played the member/guest @ local country club the weekend before the game.

The flip side is Heupel has to do a better job in assessing those things and quit Going after the shiny object. I know it’s one game, but Joey looks like a way better fit.

All this stuff with body catches and YAC going down… you guys do know that Squirel played basically the whole season with a jacked up shoulder basically catching with one arm…
And trying to catch balls from Nico who usually overthrew him. Would have loved to see him pulling in a dime in stride from Joey like Staley did Saturday.

One thing I just LOVE is that a kid who played HS an hour from Tuscaloosa and who got ignored by Saban has now beaten Alabama at two different schools.
Go Squirrel!!!!
