Question about son going to game

I want to take my dad to the ohio game, as this will likely be his last game he will be able to go to. As he is having alot of heart issues and his kidneys failing.

My question is that I have a 2 1/2 year old, that I would love to take to the game with my dad and I, as I believe my dad would love being there for his last game with his son and grandson. Is 2 1/2 too young to go to a game. I am going to look for tickets to the lower level.

Take you son with you and your Dad.....what a great experience to have 3 generations of Vol fans together. Your son may not fully understand the whole event, but it will be special for you and your Dad....take lots of pics.

I know this will bug traditionalist, but I am taking my 3 year old granddaughter to the Ohio game. Should be a low key environment for a youngster. If I have to leave early, no big deal. Plenty of cheap tickets to be had.

Absolutely. My daughters have attended with me and my dad. They were a little older but thats a memory that lasts.

This is a no brainer take him. For sure bring some headphones for over his ears and he should be just fine. Also when he starts to be too much to handle etc just pack up and leave early. Take some pics and create some memories. Enjoy it. I took my boys when they were 3 and now they are 7 and 5 and biggest vfs around!

Take advantage of having the opportunity to do this

I plan to take my 2 year old this year for his first game.
I'm also planning on the ohio game, and I plan to split duties walking him around with my wife when he gets bored or fussy.

Also, being it's the ohio game, if he loses it and we need to bail, no big deal.

Do it. I took my then 2 year old acouple years ago. Raising them right! Once in a lifetime oportunity.

Thanks everyone. I will definitely take my son with my dad to the game. And bring some headphones.

You all are right, memories last a life time, and I am trying to do as much as I can with my dad, and my son.

I wasn't much older for my first UT game. I can't see how it wouldn't be worth it just for the experience, like everyone else has said

We took our boy to the swamp last year. Lower level 40 yrd line seats. Crowd was wild. He wasn't quite 2 yet at the time. It wasn't that bad at all. Awesome time

I took my 3 year old last year and he did great. Loved watching the band pregame. Best thing is he slept the whole way home. It's worth it, he remembers going and the players running through the T. Praying for your Dad, hope y'all have a great time.

I usually would say too young but in this instance, you have to do it. Enjoy the time. My dad passed in 2011. Wish I had him here to go with my son and I tomorrow.

Enjoy every moment! When I didn't think I could get any more emotional than I already was tonight.

He has been to 2 Orange and White games, this will be his first REAL game, however. He is 4 1/2 and I hope he remembers it for the rest of his life.

My wife and I took our 2yr old son to the bowl game in Tampa. Yes it was very hot and he was fussy but my wife is great with him and with a little patience it worked fine. Now, like you will with your son, I will always have that story to tell him. Take him even if it isn't the most comfortable time for you and you will not regret. Pack up a little early and beat some of the crowd will help all of you also.

Ear buds will be a good idea. If he doesn't like wearing them and his ears still bother him, you can take him up the stairs to the area with the snack stands. It is noticeably quieter, you can still watch the game and you can put your boy on your shoulders to watch too, might be harder for him to see though.

Do it. Took our then 7 month old to the Vandy game last year and he made it into mid third quarter with little to no problem at all. The headphones help for the younger ones

Take him. Also get a cheap stroller. The sign says no strollers but last year with the twins they let us in with them and it made things much easier.

Oh also, if he can/will sit in your lap to watch the game, find a scalper on the way to the game and ask for his cheapest ticket ($10-$15tops) so you don't have to drop an extra $40-$50 knowing you might have to leave early.

I've seen lots of kids that age at games. Especially under the circumstances I think it's a great idea to take your son. Ohio game should be pretty laid back as well. I would imagine you should be able to walk the concourse when he gets fussy.

I have a 2 year old son that we haven't taken yet. Are debating if we want to take him to Bristol with us (otherwise wife won't get to attend game).

I am 32 and I remember going to game with my dad grand pa and great grand pa... My great grand pa passed away when I was 6
