We had Hurricane Mathew roll through this morning, and were the hardest hit area so far in the CONUS US, and other than a few downed trees on the beach, there's not much else other than a few bent fences and some yard debris around town.

So on the far east coast, there's nothing that would consider canceling a game, even Miami and FSU are playing this Sunday.

This is 100% a coward move by the Florida admin trying to snake their way into the SECCG if we lose the next 2 games. This is just completely unbelievable.

I have no doubt in my mind that Florida is trying to snake their way into that game. Gainesville is 70 miles from the east coast, and over 100 miles from the eye of the storm. The most they got there was a light breeze and very minimal rain.

So what all do you all think about this?

Dude, it's easy to say now that it was a mistake but had the Hurricane hit land it could have been a major disaster that would have required all the states resources to help with the aftermath.

Okay, exactly what was LSU to do? (Heck I can't say I love Alleva, but not sure I see another option, please enlighten me)

You are acting like the child because Florida gamed the SEC East with oversight by the SEC, and in part gamed LSU. I have no event schedule currently, but I don't think that solves the issue.

If you mean LSU, exactly who do you want them to play on November 19th? Isn't everything you are saying basically childish in nature and apparently self-serving?

You can bark up this tree all you want... its a waste of time.

I understand that, but to completely rule out moving it to Sunday or Monday is absurd. Especially with this morning being Friday knowing what we know.

Whatever the proposed date is with the two OOC games that can be bought out. LSU vs Florida in Gainesville.

Not acting like a child at all. I subscribe to the theory that we have our own business to take care of, and why worry about two programs that want to "win" a scheduling conflict.

And I'm not going to say what your AD should have done, because I don't have all the information. But Foley had the cards to play, and he played them. Alleva's counterpunch didn't work.

I think you are being a baby because you are not getting what you want, and you are blindly attacking. Although, I might be incorrect on that.... that is my opinion.

I don't want any sympathy for LSU, actually the exact opposite, assign them the L and move on... if it kill their chance, so be it.

This site is great, what does that have to do with you being angry about not getting what you want... trust what LSU fans wanted went out the window around Wednesday morning.

Nope pretty sure it is completely due to the spineless chicken **** players on the Gator football team and equally spineless talking heads in the Athletic department that were simply afraid to take the field and get their asses handed to them. Again.

I live literally where the storm hit Florida the hardest on the East coast. There's about 17 different ways that this game could be played over the next few days, but it's just chicken **** Florida admin not wanting to play to sneak back into the SECCG picture.

For the record, the only reason the messenger is being shot is that he refuses to quit messaging. If you weren't quick to mock everyone who throws out a suggestion- I'm sure useless, but most commentary here is- you probably would find that sympathy here.

And what I want isn't some decree that UT is in the SECC or whatever you may want to see us say. All I want is to watch the Vols play Texas A&M tomorrow.

Unlike you, I'll get what I want.

Your making to much sense. Nobody knew the other day when they had to make a decision where that thing was going for sure. Not like putting on one of these things takes any preparation. They knew it was not going to hit the southern end of the state, that's why the fsu / um game was not cancelled and it a 8pm not a 12 noon game. As of Thursday some models had it making landfall around Ft Pierce which would have put the storm on Friday much closer to Gville. So I guess your not suppose to err on the side of caution. Makes sense to me....

Just a little FYI for conditions today in Gainesville. My wife works for a company whose home office is in Gainesville and their internet server also runs through there. She said all of those people in that office worked and even went out for lunch today. They had some heavy rain but at no time did they lose power and there were no issues with their internet access.
Wouldn't be about right if they end up having decent weather for Saturday or Sunday after LSU claims they were willing to play whenever.

There were many other options, postpone or move the game but Florida basically just got a free pass to bot play a game.
