He did this right in the center of the field in front of everyone.....threw his hemet as hard as he could right into the ground and then, I believe, took out his mouthpiece and threw it onto the ground as well. This was on the play where we had the illegal substitution penalty on us. When it was determined the game was not over then should the refs not have thrown an unsportsmanlike flag for this resulting in offsetting penalties? Would this have let the game end with us winning? Chime in on this, folks.

not to mention our entire team rushed the field. The fact is our head coach may be book smart, but proved himself to be the most incompetent game manager of all time.

Home cooking, but we shouldn't have let them convert on 4th and 14. What puzzles me is it took them so long to call that, must of come from upstairs.

I agree, but what to do? We snatched defeat from the jaws of a win. Truly sad...this game may be the turning point of our season, and not in a good way.

Regardless, our guys played today - the left it all on the field. I feel for them right now!

The throwing of the helmet was an egregious foul and therefore reviewable as well.

Should have been an unsportsman like conduct foul fifteen or offsetting. It is NOT irrelevent, if you are going to give the game to someone after a play that wouldn't have mattered if we had 1 player on the field. If their going to enforce the rules, they should carry it.

I won't pretend to know the rule, but if there was time on the clock when he threw the helmet it would have been unsportsmanlike conduct. They would still replay the down, but they should be backed up 15 yards.

Sounds good to me.

It would have offset and the game can't end on a defensive foul, so they get another snap.

I would think that since it was a deadball foul it would have been 15 yds after the illegal participation penalty.

He did it while the ball was still live, and the players wern't set.... Reffs need to blow the effin whistle before the snap or shut their mouths and let us effin win. So pissed

I don't know how they would assess the foul, but straight up 13 men on the field (illegal participation) is 15 yard penalty as well.

Offsetting Penalties, LSU would have been backed whatever was previously assessed. What a quarter yard or whatever it was.

You should know by now that teams who throw helmets vs us never get a penalty....can I say Alabama from last years game...and didn't we lose that one in the final minute...and away at that...isn't that speacial.

Loving the hyperbole here. Play the number 10 team in the country to the last play of the game when you're 16 point underdogs, screw up and suddenly you're the worst game manager of all time. You people need to calm the hell down.

I saw that too, yes, it should have been a personal foul - 15 yards. But it still doesn't help the fact that our coaches have proved over 2 games that they cannot count. Has Wilcox had his vision checked since he arrived in TN? Could it be the elevation, or humidity that causes him to not be able to see how many people we have on the field?

how can this be blamed on our coach? If you see the replay, he had the right number coming in and out, then for some reason two guys ran back midway through.

Although I would agree that they should have just left the guys in, they wouldn't have gotten a play in anyway.

LSU coach is worst in game management
