Good luck finding one. I am searching for a room for the Florida weekend, and EVERYTHING even remotely close is booked. The closest I have found is a few rooms at the Cedar Bluff exit, west of town (12ish miles). I actually made a safety booking at an airport hotel. It was way better than some of the flea bags (Ramada @ West Town I'm looking in your direction) that were still available in West Knoxville. I have never stayed near the airport, but it is a straight shot, about 12 miles, down Alcoa Highway. Not too bad.

A couple of the places still available out there were fairly new, and pretty decent looking. Not ideal, but better than nothing. My girlfriend reminded that it could be worse...I could be stuck in Nashville that weekend.

I like to stay at the Crowne Plaza and ride the trolley in from Market Square.

If you can still find a room for your weekend...any hotel downtown would be perfect!

Everything within 10 miles AT LEAST is usually booked, and nearly all hotels require a 2-night minimum purchase on game weekends. Good luck finding one. Personally, I'd find a hotel in a suburb somewhere. I live just south of chattanooga, but have a lake house on Watts Bar Lake/TN river, and it's about 30 miles west of Knoxville. Definitely not a bad drive, especially on game nights.

I have stayed at the Hilton downtown multiple times with no complaints, $120/nt online, and the Sheraton Four Points off Cumberland has 5 rooms available on hotels.com.

The Marriott is a fine property, and a short walk. I prefer the Hampton or the Hilton if not booked up. The walk is a little shorter, and you feel like you are more in the thick of it. Closer to Market Square as well.

I wish they had availability for Sept. 18th. That one really has the best location.

Call the Hotel Saint Oliver on Union Avenue. It's right on Market Square and a short walk or trolley ride to the stadium.

Ahhh, any other weekend and I'd invite a fellow Vol from out of town to stay in my apartment on the Strip. That's my girlfriend's birthday weekend, so I don't think it'll fly.

No rooms are available. I cancelled a room at the Comfort Inn in Powell to rebook at the Cumberland house but they sold out by the time I called back. That's it. There all booked.

The Hilton Airport is usually the visiting team's hotel. But it's still handy travel wise.

Marriott was always my favorite. Very convenient. Then they decided to triple their usual rates for football weekends. Pissed me off. I now just rent a cabin about 45 minutes away. A bit more work, but I get it cheaper and it's closer to family anyway.
