I'm thinking about moving parking lots next season and would like to know pros and cons of 11th street parking garage . Tailgating area, walk to stadium (had knee replacement this year) traffic departure going East etc. Thanks

There's a small area of grass on the west side of garage that will hold a few tents, but the top floor is really the way to go for tailgating. Nice view of downtown, too.

It's an easy walk to the stadium across the pedestrian bridge (5th floor) and around the back of the Hill.

It's easy to enter -- we come in down Henley from the interstate, right at the convention center, left on 11th. If it's close to game time, you will have to circle up several floor to find a spot. Back in if you can.

Exiting can be a challenge. If it's a well-attended, close game, you could be stuck for a long time unless you are close to an exit. We sat at a standstill for 45 minutes after BYU, re-parked the car, and walked over to the Holiday Inn sports bar for an hour. Officers force you to go a certain direction based on traffic flow. We usually end up going back over to Henley and onto 40/75, but you can also continue up 11th to Western.

Takes nearly 2 hours to get out of the thing (no matter how the game is), but the proximity to the stadium is really nice. Been parking there since 2010 or so. I don’t tailgate myself, but there are lots of tailgaters inside the garage. Not sure how they pull off the extra parking space usage, but they do.

It’s these conversations that confirm my decision to give up my season tickets.

How early do you need to be to get a spot close to the exit?

And does the the area to the west side fill up w tailgaters?
I got there fairly late last time and wasn't too far from the exit. Also, the tailgaters tended to take the corner spots where there was some extra room to tailgate.
I'd like to tailgate outside and not in the garage.
