With his record against top competition, Bray would be insane to go pro. I hate to be negative Nancy, but Worley is not as good as he was advertised to be. I remember watching his high school highlight tape, and thinking "Boy those receivers sure are making him look good." Now I know why. He was throwing to freaking Patterson. Anytime he's been in the game for us too many of his passes end up in the dirt.

This!!

You Obviously have never seen his Highschool film or watched him on
"Elite 11" on ESPN.

he(meaning ferguson)will not(meaning highly unlikely)come in(meaning as a freshman)and beat out(meaning pass up)worely or peterman.......

do you understand.(meaning, can you dig the knowledge i'm spittin in your direction)

In the CFL LOL,,,,,,,His draft status is dropping like a lead balloon. He will be back unless CDD is gone. JMO:hi:

Not quite, but he needs another year. It's not all that uncommon for a really good college defense to make a QB look average, especially when the QB is playing from behind. How many other top QBs has faced the level of competition that Bray has? Even Geno Smith has looked average at times, and that was against much weaker competition.

How much has he played? Like 2 games as a freshman, and a couple of mop-up appearances? He will be fine.

But he looked like crap when he's been out there. What makes you so sure that he'll be "fine"? You have that much faith in this coaching staff to coach him up? Have they done the same with Bray?

Wow, way to show your ignorance there.

Yeah how many scholarships offers did Peterman have....Wake Forest and Cincinnati?

Yeah Worley has done a great job at mob up duty when Bray gives them a 40 point lead...

How man scholarships did Riley have uhhhh lets see.....

Alabama,lsu,NC,ND,Auburn,Clemson,Michigan.....do i need to continue?

Way to show how stupid you are

I would think that the UT QB position is poised to be in good hands with Ferguson and Peterman at the helm for several years. Both seem to have all the tools and their attitudes appear to be better than what we have seen at that position in recent years.

Once NFL GM's get out of their current seasons, and start viewing game film, Tyler Bray will NOT be a first or second round prospect. He turns the ball over way too much anytime he's facing a decent team. Tyler's a one-trick-pony. Nice deep ball...not much else.

kid ain't going pro next year and unless he pulls his head outta his a$$ he won't be going later either. unless he can carry a clipboard and run scout team.

Do you think we'll see Worley or any of our other Q-backs Sat. Being theres a posibility Bray may go pro, wouldn't it be a good time play the others?

Bray would be making a mistake if he goes pro after this season.
I recall that we had an offensive line coach on our staff, who came to us from the Florida staff. At the end of the season, he was fired from U.T. One of his offensive linemen, in particular, was real good and had potential. He got mad because the offensive line coach was fired, so he turned pro.
He ended up being on the practice squad at Cleveland for a couple of seasons, then on the practice squad at St. Louis. Then his career ended.
Had he remained at U.T. for another season, he probably would have improved his draft status and his chances of making a team.
I remember his last name is Smith and he was recruited from Kentucky.
I would hate to see Bray fall in to that same situation.
He needs to return for his senior season and try to improve.

I don't think so. He replied to you that Worley would be fine "given time."
You are correct. I wasn't being sarcastic. As a true freshman, in his first game against So. Carolina, he struggled , as many do in their first true action. In his second game against MTSU, he completed 70% of his passes, 23/32 for 291 yards and a touchdown. Then he went to Arkansas, and the game got out of hand early, and we lost 49-7. He completed half his passes in that game, but the team sucked, and gave up.

He will be fine given time, practice, and game experience. He is similar to Bray in some respects. They do well against inferior opponents, and struggle against tough SEC opponents. It's a team thing.

He has nowhere near the arm of Tyler Bray.

Worley did look good in high school, what about the Peterman or the Ashford kid ? And I agree, Bray is definitley not ready for the pros.

IMO, Worley could step in and we would not see much dropoff if any at all. We may see less 48 yard fade routes into triple coverage, but alot more 7-10 yard routes to various guys. See the MTSU game from last year. Worley would do just fine. I think Dools lets Bray finish the year. Bray could be a late 4th round pick if a team wants to roll the dice.

There is a significant talent drop, but I agree about the 7-10 yard passes. I wonder if Tyler understands that you only need 10 yards for a first down. I mean, have the coaches explained to him that 7 yard passes can sustain a long drive?

If Worley plays it wont be because were blowing out Troy. Will be Bray having a bad game. This game is very losable and with the heartbreaking loss last week it wouldnt surprise me at all.

Worley will play for one of two reason

1.)We have a big lead, and second team is getting reps

2.)If we don't have a big lead. Bray is being "loose" with the ball, and DD is sending a message.

Calm down. You said they were similar. They are not similar.
I said "He(Worley) is similar in some respects. They do well against inferior opponents, and struggle against tough SEC opponents. It's a team thing." That means that both QB's, as well as the entire team, do well against inferior opponents only.

This doesn't mean that Bray and Worley are similar in arm strength, ability to read defenses, mental ability, maturity, or anything else. It means that "they do well against inferior opponents, and struggle against tough SEC opponents." I have never said that I wanted Worley to start. I have never said that he is better than Bray. I will admit that Bray should have been pulled against Kentucky last year. Maybe it was his thumb, but I would have had Simms or Worley in that game, after a few series.

I think I'd give Worley the edge in maturity. He at least seemed to handle his adversity like a champion instead of like a spoiled child.
