You don't like stats I take it. When one side throws out comment after comment based off woulda, shoulda, coulda arguments on JG there is almost always the stats to prove that he's not nearly as bad as the neverJGers claim. They would say he's not as good as the JG apologist make him out to be but I don't see ANYONE claiming JG as elite, most simply argue he's not the dog you and others claim him to be.
NEVER called JG a dog. I've stated my opinion of JG's ability as a QB and don't feel the need to keep beating people over the head with it. After all it's just an OPINION.

When you continually sling sh*t against the wall in the hope some will stick it comes off as desperate and a little pathetic. Constantly bludgeoning people with rando stats, like percentage of plays JG's shoes were tied as opposed to untied and its effect on offensive success (obviously sarcastic here) is what I'm talking about.

I love the guy, but I'm just tired of hoping he'll "put it all together". At this point, just do it already (JG) so people won't have to pull meaningless stats out of their ass to defend you.

So it's ok for you to keep posting your opinion as you see fit on a fan forum but I must limit my opinions and how I post them on a fan forum.. that's what I got from that. Probably not going to happen sir.

Here's another one you can try to disclaim. You spinners are having trouble spinning these.

So our offense was the fourth best this past weekend - looks like a dead heat around the 4-5-6 spot - nothing to see or spin here. Not sure what your point is - JG is still terribly inaccurate - is still the worst passer completion wise on passes beyond 10 yards dating back to 2018. He still misses the mark on most of the intermediate timing patterns. He can drop the ball to backs for 4 or 5 yards that often turn into big gainers one of which was our biggest gainer on Saturday in Columbus. To his credit he is now throwing a pretty decent long ball. That stat you pulled out, has no meaning whatsoever regarding is he an accurate passer. Must not be much going on in Pulaski to roll that out in defense of High and Wide.

It's just one of many that site has that says pretty much the exact opposite of your evaluation from your couch.

That is not how the measure it. The measure ifit was accurate regardless of a catch. His completions were on the money. JG threw some nice passes on Sat.
He did throw some nice passes. IMO a pass that this thrown in the back hip thigh area in a slant, that the wr has the twist his body to catch therefore slowing or stopping his momentum is an inaccurate pass....we can agree to disagree..

Watch that game again. Sometimes Chaney dials up some uninspired plays at the wrong time. Couple that with JGs delayed mechanics/processing and it creates a very inconsistent and frustrating offense.

Velus Jones, Brandon Johnson and Josh Palmer looked like a potential awesome trio last Saturday. Need to spread it to them and run the offense through them imo

I think we should include Chandler on that list. He needs to be on the field more I feel.

I honestly do respect your opinion of JG but it doesn't mean I have to agree with it. I guess my point was maybe we should limit the number of times we keep posting the same opinion on a given topic as opposed to actually limiting/sensoring the actual opinion.

Unfortunately the JG argument has gone on for so long now most people have made their minds up and are not to be persuaded otherwise. So the convo tends to devolve into silly argument, insults, etc. so forth and so on. I'm just as guilty as the next guy. So with that said, if I have insulted you, I apologize and hope JG lights it up tomorrow and shuts us all up.

Peace

I agree 100! I sometimes jump the gun on some and a few I just get a kick out of arguing with. The NegaVol neverJG crowd's energy bothers me though, that I admit. You're not that, not yet anyway :)

I like Chandler a lot. He reminds me of Hardesty... and I LOVED Hardesty. Wish Hardesty had had good knees. IMO, Chandler doesn't leave many yards on the field. He seems to fall forward and take on contact.

I know Gray has a lot of fans but I'm still a skeptic. He just seems too easy to tackle. He's got the wiggle and speed if he gets out in space though.

Gray hasn't shown me anything yet. He doesn't run between the tackles and get the tough yards. He seems to consistently want to bounce everything outside, and he often forfeits yards because of it. Chandler is a better running back at this point.

Damn, they have a rando stat for everything. I'm curious on what percentage of offensive plays JG's shoes were tied and what the success rate was on downs where his shoes weren't tied compared to downs where they were.. This info would no doubt be important to one side of the argument........

or the other.

🙄

Just to clear the record,
That was the last time JG forgot to tie his shoes.

just incredible that they didn't flag that.
I get that it wasn't a player safety issue like targeting or a facemask, but the SEC has shown they'll arbitrarily call those (J. Banks last week...) off field & buzz it down.

That BYU jack-arse chucking JG's shoe was the epitome of unsportsmanlike conduct though. Inexcusable to miss that one.

Man I hate the haters won’t have any much fresh ammo to use this week but I am guessing many will still bitch about the past instead of admitting that maybe just maybe this QB is getting better under a second year OC!!!!

Hell of a Job by that JG led offense today. Well done Vols

I for one have no complaints...he looked good today...
I also realize this was a poor Mizzou team and next week will reveal the truth..but tonight JG earned a respite from the BS for now😉

STFU.. Do you really think most of the folks that have been critical of JG's game are upset he played well today? Seriously?

I happy for him and the team. Really hope he continues to get better because it's going to get real interesting over the coming weeks.

I was critical of some aspects of JG’s performance last week. He ran a great offense today. Another game with no turnovers and good decision making. He looks much improved versus last year and I hope he continues to get better.

2-0 start!! GO VOLS!!!

It was said before the season he was on a short leash and maybe that was true but after these two nice performances that leash is much longer and should be

Dude I’ve seen posters post they prayed JG gets covid and they wouldn’t watch another game he played QB for the vols.

Now that’s the proper use of the word pathetic
I've honestly not seen the posts you speak of. Maybe you could produce them. Therefore it's definitely NOT most of the people that have been critical of his game (as stated in my post).

JG is not an SEC caliber QB. It’s not a knock against him as a person. I’m not one either. But if he hasn’t figured it by now, he isn’t going to. Nearly everything he completes downfield of any significance is either a jump ball or the result of freak catch. It is simply his ceiling.
Not true today..not at all.

Prior to today..your statement would have been fairly accurate. However a couple of his passes downfield were timed and placed extremely well. 2 years with Chaney and an Oline that protects is the reason for the improvement.i hope to see more as the season progresses.
