You read the part about purely speculation, right? VQ quote sounds like they have some actual insight.

Here's the deal. VN falls into 2 camps when it comes to qb's, the Whorley camp and the Dobbs camp. There is no Peterman camp. He is universally disliked. No one actually thinks their qb is good. They only think the other guy is terrible. The reality is that Whorley isn't going to finish the season because he is going to get injured. Posting stats about how bad each of them are isn't going to change any minds. Honestly, it's a moot point. With the o line as bad as they are, no quarterback is going to be our messiah. All we can do is try to prevent injuries, player development, and start thinking about next year.

That being said, having a qb with the ability to tuck and run when the pocket is collapsing my be our only hope of winning against Mizz, vandy, and Ky. How many games have we lost due to a backup qb that can scramble?

Yall go ahead and keep hating on Peterman and thinking Dobbs is gonna make a difference.......let me know how that works out for ya. There's a reason Dobbs is third string.

If the reports are true you may ought to let Jones know. It sounds like both are gonna get a shot if Worley is out.

This offense would make Peyton Manning look like a terrible QB

Yeah, Im not sure the argument is who can pull off a win Saturday. If it is, its not worth the discussion. It s really a question of 2 QBs that haven't done a whole lot and who projects to be the better fit in the future.

If Worley can't go, I honestly don't know what the answer is. Dobbs might be able to buy some time behind this OL because of his scrambling ability and make a few more plays with his legs I don't know. What I do know, is I have no confidence in Peterman. I wish I did, and I wish the kid would come out and play confident and lights out one game against good talent and prove us all wrong. I really do. I just don't see it though. He just completely melts down when he gets on the field. He looks so shaken up and lost out there.

Based on the eye test, Dobbs is much better than peterman. Peterman has shown nothing in games. At least Dobbs can run a little.

You're using an eye test from last year. Peterman is still mobile and all reports say that Dobbs accuracy is not where it needs to be. I personally believe Peterman suffers from lack of game time. He just doesn't seem to make the reads fast enough. Similar to Worley when he first took over

Maybe they should run a 3 QB system.

Worley on passing downs if his shoulder isn't too damaged.

Dobbs when they want to run because he isn't a very good passer.

Peterman to do the victory formation because that is the only live action he can handle.

And it really doesn't matter if they are telegraphing plays anyway since the defensive line will be in the QB's lap regardless.

They have to put whoever is on the field (Worley included) in less compromising positions. 15 to 20 Wildcat formations, higher running attempts, reduce the down field routes and get the ball out to the WRs and TEs quicker.

Will it score 30 points? No.
Will it keep your QB upright more often? Yes
Will it cut down on catastrophic plays? It should.

I couldn't agree more. With our defense we don't always have to score that many points to win, but these catastrophic plays are killing us. We need to find a way to manage the game better and just not lose the game on offense. Making 2 or 3 yards on quick passes and wildcat formations is definitely better than losing 5 or 6 on sacks and turning the ball over on fumbles and interceptions due to our OL breaking down and the pressure from the opposing defenses.

Peterman's about to get another shot at it. Let's see how he does. Hopefully he has grown up emotionally and plays well. After all, as everyone has pointed out, he's earned the second string position and should be the guy. Time for him the perform.

Just brace yourselves, folks. Tomorrow is going to be fugly...And I'd be shocked if we don't see Dobbs before the game is over.

Don't be surprised if we run 70/30 run/pass this weekend. To burn clock and save Worley from the hospital

Yep.

Its not gonna score enough to beat good teams but will give you a chance to win in Nov against mediocre to bad teams where your defense can make a bigger impact.

If the reports are true that they are both getting reps with the 1s it makes sense that they are both laying. If it was just Peterman he would be getting them all considering he hasn't played much.

They are trying to redshirt dobbs. Dobbs may not win the game but i would rather run wildcat with pig and hurd every play than let the turnover master himself take one snap.

This O-line has had game time reps with Peterman! So Peterman has experience in that aspect! Even if dobbs starts you will see we are going to have quiet a few bad calls and penalties!!
Worley gives us the best shot at competing right now! IMHO

Yes. This all day.

Peterman obviously knows the nuances and subtleties of which way the offensive linemen are going to get knocked on their a--es and will inherently be able to avoid sacks for a couple of seconds longer or make similar ill-advised panic throws as Worley.

Dobbs just doesn't have the luxury of that yet.
