The Net just doesn't make sense when you look at the resumes of some teams ahead of Tennessee. Were 5 and 6 in Q 1 and 2 and Net is 57. Arizona is 2 and 9 and 10 and 9 record and are number 44. The variation between the rpi numbers and the NET numbers is just confusing. Were number 30 rpi and 57 net. Look at Alabama Net 33 and RPI 99 so make sense of that really hard to understand how they are coming up with their rankings. The only solution I come up with is margin of victory. Bama beat a bunch of easy teams by 40 plus points. Most of our games were closer. If that gets you in the NCAA to beat NC Wilmington by 50 and teams of that caliber what a terrible rating system.

NET punishes u for beating bad teams close and doesn’t reward u for beating good teams… it’s a terrible metric

This would be the RPI at the end of the season, or at the time the game was played?

TN's Strength of schedule up to 15, 4 Q1 wins, and a 5-1 record in the league will undoubtedly have the Lady Vols back in the ncaa field with tomorrow's bracketology update with Charlie Creme.

Our offensive and defensive efficiency immensely impacts TN's net ranking. Being down double digits in 5 of our 6 SEC games, and winning close contests is what's keeping our NET in the 50's. We need blowouts over the bad teams, and close games against the good ones, and our NET will soar. Right now the computers see us as a very average team that is 50/50 odds to win or lose every game we play.
