I believe GMac is up to his desired weight that the school, his parents and he wanted. I think it’s time to give him his shot. I actually hope he plays the entire second half in the bowl game.
Where did you hear that? GMac still looks like a string bean. I'd say he still has about 25 pounds to go before he's physically ready to take the pounding a 9 game SEC schedule will bring.

Mac *WAS* a 5 star at one point during his recruitment but he didn't finish that way as a senior. he was downgraded to a 4 star after further evaluation. he is listed as the 17th best QB and 9th best player in the state.
I believe he was downgraded after an injury prevented him from attending camps, however.

all we need to develope G mac or Brandon dont want no transfers
Brandon will be all of 17 years old when he steps on campus and GMac looks like Sally Struthers should be hanging out, outside his doormroom door! Behind them? Nothing! We have to get a portal QB. That is priority 1! To suggest otherwise is a profound lack of understanding of roster management and what we are facing next year, schedule wise.

Yep, PPL saying we need to develop, do they think if you didn't have to sit out a year and there was NIL, we would have the championship in 1998. Tee Martin would have left after his 2nd year, instead of developing for 3 years under Cutcliffe . In todays climate you can develop for 2 years and spend tons of NIL money for some other teams future QB, unless the player is a Freshman phenom like Sayin or Underwood and beats out all QBs. Also, if you just throw a Freshman or RS Freshman out there and take their lumps to a 6 win season, the same ppl saying we need to develop within, would be sayin "FAHR Josh Heupel".

With the next year QB being much of this season ending talk I decided to look at what Lane had at OM this season. He had a RS Soph scheduled to start. He had a top 10
RS Fr, 4 previous transfer in, portal QBs, and then added a DII portal guy before the season. Why didn’t / doesn’t Heupel just sign 2 or 3 QBs from the portal. He may hit a home run like Chambliss at OM this year. DII guy that is athletic and can throw.

I tend to agree with this. Why? Because GMac could not beat out Merk to be #2 this past season. If Faison is anywhere close to his star ranking he'll be starting in 2027. To be the most effective and efficient in Heupel's offense the QB must be an effective runner for 4 or 5 carries a game≥ See Hooker when he tucked it and ran.
I believe that CJH and GMac decided long ago to be a backup until he gained some weight
