QB Transfers NEWS ONLY

Yeah, we aren’t signing a big time transfer and everyone who has followed the program under Heupel should know that by now.
Been here a long time, I know the drill. Just curious if he had, mad respect for Larry. He doesn't grind the rumor mill. You wouldn't happen to know what thread he was in do you?

Haynes King

Sec experience
Took the dawgs to OT and almost beat them
Laid it all on the line!
Scrappy and can really scramble

Sure hope they've reached out to him.
Coaches son, tough, doesn't do the BS and won a state championship in probably one of the most physical and competitive divisions in America. Texas 6A div 2 was loaded in 2018 when he won led them to the title. I watched him play here in ETX that year and was hoping Pruitt could land him in recruiting.

I remember Chaney was really high on him. They wanted him pretty badly before he committed to Texas A&M.

Since you can see into the future, can you post the winning lottery numbers for the Mega Millions? Thanks in advance because I may not be around here after I play your numbers.

Sincerely

I kinda modeled my life after John Wayne Bobbitt. I like to go off half-cocked…

r I....as retiring Lee Corso would say, "not so fast my friend".

I do agree that Hooker was blind luck...he was a perfect fit for what Huepel wants to do and it was a rare match of talent and scheme. That was our NC year and MI sign stealing (yes I am part of that conspiracy) and Hooker's injury killed that story.

But, since Hooker we had Milton (VFL, but could not process the defense/reads correctly), and Nico (just didn't pick up the offense and couldn't process the plays being called in). Either way, we did not have a QB that could run at that speed and that allowed other teams to see and adjust on the fly (especially with the speakers in the helmets).

To run this offense, we need speed on play coming in, getting to the line, reading the defense, snap, decision, action. So we need a cerebral QB who can process data quickly and prevent the lulls we have that allows a defense to call down a different play because the QB can't run the offense at the needed speed.

Huepel's offense requires speed. without it, the scheme slows and bogs down. Would not surprise me if they are doing some cerebral questions to QBs in the portal to see how quick they can think.
If not, they should, I rather have a qb, with maybe ,weaker arm, but can act fast and decisively. and accuracy is more important imo than arm strength. It really doesn't matter how far you can throw a football if you are not accurate.

Purely my opinion, but think the longer this drags, the less chance of us making a splash. If we're landing a QB1 type, I'd guess it would be over next few days...otherwise, we'll add someone who will round out our QB room, but not evident clear starter and roll w/ our guys.
What causes most people on here not think we already have a great qb on the roster now. We have two highly recruited qb on the current roster.

Dang son this guy right here is down in the dumps lolol He is joking bro. Yall realize we have a great team? So whoever plays at QB will need to be a game manager like Nico was last year. I think we can manage that without any big transfer. If we get someone big of course that would be cool but so many peeps in here all upset over a QB search when our QB won us literally 0 games last season. Heupel will have someone ready to go regardless of the transfer portal. I don't expect these starting QBs at good schools are gonna wanna leave where they are comfortable, have the starting job, and are getting paid pretty well to wanna leave that and come compete for a starting job and learn a whole new system in time for the season. Most guys won't be up for that no matter the money/circumstances. We just happened to have a guy who solely wanted cash over everything and I think we are realizing that most of these kids aren't completely that way. We will be fine, its not like 19 TDs and 2,000 yards is that hard to replace.
