Lots of second guessing. Why didn’t coaches assess Nico risk in January? Why not engage qbs in winter portal. That’s the frustration. I don’t disagree that it was going to be hard this late to count on a kid flipping on his team.

I have to agree. The signs were there. I posted before it all fell apart that I didn't believe this caught Heup off guard. I'm not sure it didn't.

Also, I don't think they recruited Madden all that much. I wonder if this didn't cause some animosity.

It was said Nico and CJH had a very close relationship. CJH probably just never thought Nico would transfer like many of us fans. Maybe he shoulda knew it was a possibility but hell, Nico makes it into spring I can’t blame the dude for thinking he still would have Nico in fall. Pretty much no big name starting QB leaves in the Spring portal. Nico was really a first of its kind. Hard to blame CJH either way. Boosters need to now understand coach got the best he could and now it’s time to get weapons on offense with the leftover money.

Aguilar cannot make the throws consistently that will be asked of him in this offense i believe... it is what it is, but if we fizzle on everyone and swap QB's, don't expect anything more than maybe 7 wins at the most...

Still wonder if Heup and our NIL had actually ponied up the money and gotten two elite WR's in the portal after the playoffs if we'd be having this conversation...

Everyone in here pissing and moaning… absolutely none of you get to celebrate if Aguilar balls out and Tennessee has a 10 win season.

Heup is putting his reputation and coaching chops on the line for the betterment of our program and telling the entire college ecosystem to not bend over to greedy handlers and agents.

I'll be glad to eat crow. I'll root for whoever the QB on the field is. Doesn't mean I have to like it right now.

Agree. I think we could benefit from a little more cut throat mentality when telling players to move on, and engaging with portal players.

Aguilar has some QB chops. His ‘23 was impressive. Excited to see if Heup can maximize his talent. The only thing I don’t like is the timing of all this.
