This is exactly why we say “play them” regardless of what seniority is in front of them…experience only comes from playing in games…Film room helps with scheme,Practice helps with critiquing your craft and the live game action is the payoff..we wouldn’t be having this discussion or concerns if JH put the better product on the field instead of who’s been here longer…you have to prepare for everything…

imma give JH a pass for taking the word of a 18 year old that he would stay throughout for the rebuild because of the amount that was being thrown at him..I’m sure he felt like he would stay but kids will be kids. At the time Nico was THE highest paid NIL athlete.JH took a chance on him doing that so I understand why he thought he would never leave.

The logic makes sense because no one would think that you would take a massive pay cut to go play for a third rate football program, in front of dozens of fans, in an offense that ranked 124th last season.

I find it hard to believe that it would be Altmyer, despite all the chatter.

The word on Friday afternoon was that our collective tried (remember, our staff can't talk to him unless he's in the portal) but he didn't want to leave his team

I have no idea who else we could be on if it's not Altmyer or Angeli

Hopefully, we didn't wait too long for an answer if it's not Altmyer and miss out on other potential options

I refuse to believe Heupel is that incompetent. No portal QB would mean going into the 2025 season with 2 QBs in the roster unless we can convince a frat boy to walk-on. No way Heupel would allow us to fall into that situation

He could just add a depth piece and go all in on Merklinger. Nico was unproven last year as well.
