and you still can't get an upper tier qb.

Doubtful you said that last year when we landed a Elite 11 QB

QB is not in dire need like some other positions

Then again, you knew that I am sure

Wasn't Hardegree part of the "package deal" to get Daniel Brooks?

Well, yes and no. I am pretty sure the Hardegree came to UTK first and foremost to play tennis. I believe he might have even gotten his scholarship for tennis and not football. Not sure on that last part though.

I saw on the Texas board that Kinne's Dad had been hired by Baylor. It also said the other coaches in his HS conference were glad to see him go because he was a jerk. Wasn't Lucas Taylor listed as the third sting QB at one time?

I havent looked at Michigan's depth. Schaeffer's commit to Missy with Flatt and Lane as runner ups, Bring on Stephens..

U-T

Let's be REALISTIC & admit this. The biggest reason UT had a chance of that "#11" ranked qb was he worked on a former UT qb's farm all summer long.

I'm not sure I know as much as you think, but thanks for the confidence expressed. One thing I do know, I feel this is as true as anything posted here; I don't care if we had recruited Joe Montana last year, our former Staff would not know how to develop his skills or use his talents to the fullest.

I asked this to you & others. What percent of offensive players that just happened to be All-American grade, All-State grade, All-Mid State, All-Region, All-County, All-City, All-You Fill in the Blank grade, developed significantly OR IN MOST CASES EVEN met expectations at UT under the former Offensive Staff?

I'm not speaking of ONLY last years team, go back to the NC year...if you dare.

My daughter goes to Ole Miss.Flatt is not going to play next year. He is going to law school.

Lets not forget about Lucas Taylor too. He would be our 4th option with a limited "James Banks" package.

So sorry to those I offended by going into UT's recent recruiting performance results dare. By the way qb's were included in my small dare.

Now understanding this being a "qb" thread only & seeing what UT has to choose from at this point, might as well close this thread down.

So what? Many kids go to schools because of connections. One of the best recruiting tools these days.

Poor logic

I had much rather they (outstanding qb candidates) come to UT because we can develop their talent. Rather than some random "connection" but that's just me. Anyway, we shall see how JC pans out after shoulder surgery. I suppose that highly respected grad assistant / former outstanding qb Rick Clausen will begin tutoring him immediately or is he possibly trolling that connection net to land yet another Clausen...

Now that you mention it, we got Clausen on "connections" didn't we.

People calm down, Both Ainge and Crompton will be fine. If our receivers learn to run correct routes and catch the ball and our OL blocks well the QB's can get it done. Besides if we do struggle at the QB position again then it opens the door for Jimmy Clausen. Remember Rick is a GA. He already has an apartment in Knoxville and he will learn a ton from Cutcliff. It could possibly give us a leg up on Jummy. Thats why UT backed off of the Mustain recruitment IMO.

Dude, Jimmy Clausen will not be a vol!!!!!!! Goodness gracious!!!!

I agree, evidently Fulmer doesn't.

But we all know how much "in tune" he is with the football scene these last few years.
