He will. Its the same judge same court in Nashville that ruled on Pavia unless of course he’s some Vandy grad.I thought it was just a joke about JA coming back for another year, especially when he joined grand pa Pavia's suit . If this is true, I could get excited about next season esp' with the new DC and top 5 class in recruits. I'd like to see him play another year.
Not knocking JG as he was played with probably the most injuries of any QB in the modern era at UT.But just imagine being the insurance policy behind him.Keller Chryst came here from Stanford probably Jeremy Pruitt paid him a bag, his dad was a Head Coach at Wisconsin at one time and he couldn't beat out Guarantano. So some plans don't work out Chryst was a 5 star out of HS but thinking the new environment at UT would bring that 5 Star out never materialized , he rode the PINE.
that's literally 2 QB's on the bench and Faizon hasn't even taken a single game rep.No need for a portal QB. We have GMac and Brandon. Let them compete. Spend money on defense
That is what I'm saying. They need to get NIL in control. You can't build a team or rely on the transfer portal every year. It should be to fix holes left by underclassmen declaring for draft or entering the portal themselves and the ones behind them just aren't up to speed.Who are the HS kids going to sign with if all the big boys are hitting the portal for QB's. If they go to a lesser school. They're saving the bigger schools money because they're not paying them, the HS QB will eventually hit the portal from the smaller school looking for more NIL and wanting to play for one of the majors. Eventually these 5* QB's are going to realize that they're likely sitting 2yrs before taking over
The portal and NIL has screwed things up. People used to go into the portal so they could actually get playing time because they were buried behind someone but now, heck you got starters and guys that would be starting next season switching schools. It's crazy. That is what I'm saying. They need to get NIL in control. You can't build a team or rely on the transfer portal every year. It should be to fix holes left by underclassmen declaring for draft or entering the portal themselves and the ones behind them just aren't up to speed.

Chryst was considered a four-star recruit and ranked among the top quarterbacks in his class.Keller Chryst came here from Stanford probably Jeremy Pruitt paid him a bag, his dad was a Head Coach at Wisconsin at one time and he couldn't beat out Guarantano. Aguilar is a year older than grandpa Pavia, my friend.I thought it was just a joke about JA coming back for another year, especially when he joined grand pa Pavia's suit . He was 5 star in some of the services but anyway he was a highly rated recruit coming out of HS. I expected more from him but was a big let down.Chryst was considered a four-star recruit and ranked among the top quarterbacks in his class.

I don’t disagree. I’m simply saying this is becoming more of the norm in today’s climate. This is no way to build a team. There is no guarantee to get an experienced starter every year out of the portal. Highschool kids will see the trend how a team gets someone out of the portal to start over someone coming in and won't ever sign. Very rarely do you get a kid that isn't true freshman that comes in and starts at QB and wins on an elite level. Most know that it takes a year or two to be the starter at a top program. 24 months from now GMAC will be a junior and could declare for draft who knows but I do know getting a starting QB out of the portal is not a guarantee every year and not a way to build a team.
This is what I would do, grab a no name so it does not run off G-mac, let the three battle, and if Joey does get another year he is stuck at Tennessee, but so is everyone. There is no 2nd transfer portal anymore.Spending $4M for a one year QB seems like a waste of money to me because we aren’t going to win a natty until the defense gets fixed. I’d buy a budget QB who would provide legitimate competition to Gmac and Faizon and let the best man win. Focus resources toward impact defenders. When we have a top 10 defense, then you go get an elite QB if there isn’t one already on the roster.
There are a lot more 5* busts than those that shine. He was 5 star in some of the services but anyway he was a highly rated recruit coming out of HS. I expected more from him but was a big let down.

He won't. It's been mentioned a bunch. Merk was told he wouldn't play much his first 2 years and him and his family were more than fine with it. He's not going anywhere this year. Now, if he loses the QB battle in '27, that changes thingsOk Merk is out as he is locked behind George and Joey. So if Joey doesn’t return and we go out and pay for a new signal caller what happens if hypothetically speaking George turns and says see ya. What so we are going to pay top dollar for two? We don’t know what has been told to George. About his future especially now with faizon arriving soon.
Maybe it'll morph into HS kids going to "smaller schools" and then get brought up to the big boys when they are juniors. A minor league of sorts. Of course, there will be freshman that will start like Griffey, Jr in MLB, going straight to the majors. How this affects conference alignment, I don't know. And there would need to be collective bargaining, as it would be an understanding of college program GMs.That is what I'm saying. They need to get NIL in control. You can't build a team or rely on the transfer portal every year. It should be to fix holes left by underclassmen declaring for draft or entering the portal themselves and the ones behind them just aren't up to speed.
Beast of a schedulethat's literally 2 QB's on the bench and Faizon hasn't even taken a single game rep.
meanwhile here's the football schedule:

Oct. 10, at Arkansas*, Fayetteville, Ark.
Oct. 17, ALABAMA*, KNOXVILLE

Nov. 21, LSU*, KNOXVILLE
Nov. 28, at Vanderbilt*, Nashville, Tenn.
I fail to understand what UT sees in a qb who doesn't complete 50% of his passes, and probably getting 3 or 4 million dollars to ride the pine for at least a year, and if he can't complete 50% of his passes in high school, what can he do here. He has to have better stats than this. You wanna roll with a true freshman who didn’t complete 50% of his passes in a state championship game, a RS freshman, and an elevated walk on? Going back to 2004 we’ve started 2 QBs due to injury or poor performance in 16 out of 22 years. You want to riskU playing a walk on against Bama or even worse on the road at A&M?
