He will.Its the same judge same court in Nashville that ruled on Pavia unless of course he’s some Vandy grad.

Not knocking JG as he was played with probably the most injuries of any QB in the modern era at UT.But just imagine being the insurance policy behind him.

That is what I'm saying. They need to get NIL in control. You can't build a team or rely on the transfer portal every year. It should be to fix holes left by underclassmen declaring for draft or entering the portal themselves and the ones behind them just aren't up to speed.

The portal and NIL has screwed things up. People used to go into the portal so they could actually get playing time because they were buried behind someone but now, heck you got starters and guys that would be starting next season switching schools. It's crazy.
Looks at all the QB's that have said they're entering and even some WRs
I don't know what the deal is this year with coaches but they were getting fired left and right
The whole thing is a mess

Recruiting of players is changing. NIL is problematic but the issue is the transfer portal allows a player to transfer and immediately start at another school.

Why would a player who saw the opportunity to start at someplace else verses sitting on the bench as a backup not transfer?

Chryst was considered a four-star recruit and ranked among the top quarterbacks in his class.

Highschool kids will see the trend how a team gets someone out of the portal to start over someone coming in and won't ever sign. Very rarely do you get a kid that isn't true freshman that comes in and starts at QB and wins on an elite level. Most know that it takes a year or two to be the starter at a top program. 24 months from now GMAC will be a junior and could declare for draft who knows but I do know getting a starting QB out of the portal is not a guarantee every year and not a way to build a team.

This is what I would do, grab a no name so it does not run off G-mac, let the three battle, and if Joey does get another year he is stuck at Tennessee, but so is everyone. There is no 2nd transfer portal anymore.

The portal opens in 2 weeks. The Pavia case will not be resolved before then. Thus, JH will have to get a QB in the portal. He can't sit around waiting to see if JA gets to play and have the best QBs go elsewhere. If he does that, we will essentially be back where we were last year. I'd love to see 1 more year of JA, but it ain't gonna happen.

He won't. It's been mentioned a bunch. Merk was told he wouldn't play much his first 2 years and him and his family were more than fine with it. He's not going anywhere this year. Now, if he loses the QB battle in '27, that changes things

Maybe it'll morph into HS kids going to "smaller schools" and then get brought up to the big boys when they are juniors. A minor league of sorts. Of course, there will be freshman that will start like Griffey, Jr in MLB, going straight to the majors. How this affects conference alignment, I don't know. And there would need to be collective bargaining, as it would be an understanding of college program GMs.

I fail to understand what UT sees in a qb who doesn't complete 50% of his passes, and probably getting 3 or 4 million dollars to ride the pine for at least a year, and if he can't complete 50% of his passes in high school, what can he do here. He has to have better stats than this.
