QB Justin Worley commitment

...really? Kiffin couldn't get the #1 QB in the class (cause he wanted to stay home), so he got us the #7 QB instead. Dooley got a QB. Score. There's no reason to bring up something stupid like a comparison to Kiffin, though. Doing so would only serve to show Dooley appears to be shooting low and scoring instead of shooting for the skies and settling.

Don't give me that. Kiffin missed on Hendrix, Rees, and Rettig before he went to Bray.

My GAWD, we actually will have QB depth again. I love this kid already! Go Vols! Stay focused and Orange Justin

Guys, I frankly don't care what Kiffhole did or didn't do. I'm delighted to see Worley on board.

As predicted, haters gonna hate.

There's a significant difference between hating and using facts to cool off baseless comments.
Am I happy that we've got a QB committed from an area like Rock Hill? Certainly. I'm just not gonna jump off the ledge to say Dooley's reeling in of a falling recruit as not only equivalent, but better than Kiffin's commitment from Bray.

Haters gonna hate is what you call it.

I call it not settling for mediocrity, apparently recruiting like a lower tiered SEC school and letting an unproven staff try to coach them up is not bothersome to most here.

I agree with this statement.

Great point.

While I certainly try to keep Kiffin's girlfriends in check on this board when they try to convince us about how great the good ole days of 7-6 were it is time to move forward.

Everytime we get a new commit we don't need to start comparing and contrasting DD and LK's recruiting successes/failures etc. However, sadly, I am confident this will continue.

Andrew Power, former walk on TE at South Carolina.

Offers from:
Memphis
Nevada
North Texas
Utah State

He's the one that started this "roll" we're currently on.

Do you not think that the coaches try to get higher ranked players? It looks like if we waited for a bunch of 4 and 5* players we probably wouldn't get a full class. UT isn't exactly in the greatest position in the world so to expect only 4 and 5* players is crazy.

I believe it's true.

Then you would be completely wrong.

For example, many have been saying for a while that Mr. Obama is not fit to run the country and have continued to say it to this day, myself included. However, just because I believed from the beginning and as time goes on proves to be true in no way means I "want" him to fail. Because him failing is bad for everyone, to say that haters are excited because they were/are right and he is ruining this country is absurd.

Just because someone says negative things about Dooley and thinks he will fail doesn't mean they want him too so they say "I told you so," and be right. I would guess that less than 5% feel that way.

Our QB recruiting last year was dreadful. We lucked into Bray.

Lather, rinse, repeat. Anyone Kiffin got was luck, but anyone Dooley gets is skill. Kiffin shot for the top and couldn't get them. He got us Bray, and we were excited. He left, and it turned into him getting lucky. Face the facts. Kiffin got us a great QB who can start this year.

I don't see it that way at all. As with most recruits, there are pros and cons. You can focus on the positive or the negative. I generally look at the positives, you look at the negatives. Just different philosophies.

And I just don't see how, at this point, we posters think we know better than the coaches. But we all assess things differently.

Obviously, but June is not the time you need to be accepting commitments from Andrew Power. Focus on difference makers and get as many as you can. If you can't do that, then you can accept the Andrew Powers, Gooches, Greg Clarks, Dontavis Sapps, etc.

...and to talk about what an incredible job our new coaching staff is doing when they're landing a recruiting class full of nothing but 2* and 3* players is equally crazy.
