He played like a broke d*ck dog in that game.
Stand corrected somehow thought his int at Virginia Tech were high.So you think that Jake and Gmac signed at UT for LESS money per year than Nico? Maybe. But half as much? I bet you both Jake and Gmac are making at least the $1.2M this year that JA is making. He may well be the lowest paid QB on roster at $1.2M per year....both Jake and Gmac were Elite 11 QBs in HS. Just like Nico.
Exactly this, the WRs were open way more than some here believed. He just didn't see them.People say our WRs couldn’t get separation but every game we saw windows and him missing it or not even throwing into it.
This is the SEC. Windows are gonna be small.
Same team with Hooker, Bray, Iceman would have been putting up 40 to 50 a game. Dobbs with his legs would have created bigger windows too and done the same but slightly different.
Nico just wasn’t good against any mid or greater team.
Your last sentence is my point exactly, like there was no competition, or no one else had a chance regardless of how well they did in the practice. Hype knew he was going with Nico. And he was right in doing so. I guess I am just concerned that all will be given a fair chance and the real best qb gets the starter position. I just have a concern, why would we pay a player over a million dollars, and him knowing he may not start, but would be competition.. Just concern is all. and i do trust that Hype will do the right thing. And I do disagree, its certainly not dumb. Hype did know he was going with Milton over Hooker, and Milton got the start. He recruited Milton over Hooker, well got him to transfer. And Hooker would have never seen the field except for mop up duty had Milton not got hurt.Just dumb. There were no guarantees other than the right to compete in fall camp, which is absolutely the best-case scenario. Competition makes every player better.
Nico woulda been much better off in a real QB competition. Because competition eliminates entitlement.
I agreeAgain, you have no idea what the gameplan is. Wait until the fall camp starts before you make ANY decisions. If he is coming in to start, I would have expected one of the two projected starters to bolt. If he is coming to compete for the starting job, it will help all three in the long term.
Yes we do need a backup. And no, me nor you either know what CJH has in mind. This is a forum to share thoughts, and concerns, or opinions. I am 100% all for Hype and UT. My thoughts were I find it hard to believe he would come here, because the only reason he was leaving UCLA is because he felt he was not going to start, so why change schools, learn a new offense, and not start. Just thoughts.I love these types on comments. Do you know what CJH has in mind? Or are you just laying out two negative outcomes? If Aquilar is better, he will start. If he is not, he will be a very experienced backup. We needed a third QB, so there we have one.
lol, I am not making decisions, just thoughts.Again, you have no idea what the gameplan is. Wait until the fall camp starts before you make ANY decisions. His good season was 2023 (on bottom). 2024 was the rough season. That chart is upside down. 2023 Aguilar helps us win games. 2024 Aguilar had a rough season. The Clemson highlights looks like he was like a hunted animal. His OLine was severely outclassed.
Even 10 INTs is a lot for our offense.
That footage demonstrates exactly how teams like AppSt are going to lose any players who have good seasons in the Portal era. He could be a brand new QB in our offense and with some protection. I do worry about our OLine in conference play. They probably won't do any of our QBs any favors.
Heath Shuler was the best QB Mike Ditka ever coached at team practice. He said Shuler looked like a star with the no-hit jersey on.
Actually the top line is 2024 and the bottom line are his 2023 stats.
I would too. Sure you will have a few pics but in the long run imo be much better off than the qb holding the ball too long and take a sack, afraid to throw the ball.I will take a gunslinger in a shoot out any day over a kid to scared to even draw his pistol against AR and just runs away to safety at the end,
Not sure how that works transferring this late in the term, but I'd think he'd complete his exams and be on a plane the next day.well, it took me 6 months of practice to say "Iamaleava" No shade.....Aguilar is better, I'm from Texas. No biggie. Thru away my orange and blue lay!
Was hoping to see some Vol film on Joey. Spring practice is over. Guess he is on campus? What a summer girls and boys!
