I love these types on comments. Do you know what CJH has in mind? Or are you just laying out two negative outcomes? If Aquilar is better, he will start. If he is not, he will be a very experienced backup. We needed a third QB, so there we have one.I agree we needed a back up, but don't think we needed a starter. Or else Hype has mis evaluated our two qb on the roster now.
Again, you have no idea what the gameplan is. Wait until the fall camp starts before you make ANY decisions. If he is coming in to start, I would have expected one of the two projected starters to bolt. If he is coming to compete for the starting job, it will help all three in the long term.So you need to be a junior at UT before you have the experience to start? Experience comes from playing, and imo get the experience this year or else we have an inexperienced qb for next year. And if it turned out he was really good, you have him for only one year, because he will hit the NFL draft
How do you figure that? Neither were starting this year anyway. If Aguilar is named the starter, absolutely nothing changes for Merk or Mac. Now, next year will be another story when Faizon comes in. It will be a 3-way QB battle and someone will likely transfer out.Again, you have no idea what the gameplan is. Wait until the fall camp starts before you make ANY decisions. I highly doubt CJH guaranteed him a starting spot to transfer. That's just not how he operates.Well looks like to no qb competition. He has the starting position or else he would not have transferred. We will probably lose Merk or Mac one, which either of them has much more potential than this one, and he will only be here one year, and then we have a no playing time new qb for next year. I hope I am wrong on this.
I do feel like he's going to surprise us in a good way but he's not our Savior. He's going to be a serviceable guy that shows some magic every once in a while. If he had a full spring and fall camp with the team, I would feel a lot better about the situation. He's not a bad pick up. just bad timing.

With the current landscape of college football, if the two existing QBs are told they have been recruited over, for lack of a better term, they would start looking for another place to be. Both are highly rated enough to at least match what they are getting now at a school they would at least get a chance to start. With Nico gone, you can't possibly think that one or both did not expect to be interim QB1. I hate the current landscape, but it is what it is.How do you figure that? Both fully expected to be behind the starter before NI left. I’m sure CJH told them he would get another QB & all compete for the job. I don’t think GMac family is comfortable him starting this year cause (they preferred he redshirt I heard) there’s like zero chance he’d get thru 12 games not injured. Merk would be silly to transfer now. Even if he’s 2nd team, he’s 1 play away from being a starter in his RS freshman season. With the current landscape of college football, if the two existing QBs are told they have been recruited over, for lack of a better term, they would start looking for another place to be. I doubt he did either, but that's most likely the plan. No way he wants to start the season with 3 backup quality players.I highly doubt CJH guaranteed him a starting spot to transfer. That's just not how he operates.
How are we figuring there will be a QB competition? We gave him 1.2 mil, I don't see him sittingthis guy is going to come in and be a seat warmer for a season while Tennessee figures out how to reload for the next year. I'm glad we got a guy quickly but I absolutely hate these one-year players at critical positions. he has no time to learn the full Heupel offense. at least there will be some senior leadership in the locker room for the young QBs.
