Not sure if this has been brought up before, but I've been bored waiting for football season and I was thinking...

UT hasn't had much success at keeping quarterbacks for an entire season lately. Since our great season in 2001 (in which Casey Clausen started every game) we've only had one season in which the same QB started every game.

2001 - Casey plays the entire season. Vols finish at #4.
2002 - Casey gets injured. Enter CJ Leak and James Banks
2003 - Casey plays the entire season. 10 wins.
2004 - Ainge gets injured. Schaefer gets injured. Enter Rick Clausen.
2005 - Rick injured against Vandy. Ainge takes over again.
2006 - Ainge injured against South Carolina and then leaves during LSU game. Enter Crompton.

Hopefully Ainge will be able to play an entire season in 2007, something he has never done while at UT.

i might not be right, but I don't think Rick got injuried against Vandy in '05. After that they just went with Ainge because they knew they weren't going to a bowl game.....I could be wrong

You could make the same observation about every position on the field.

UT has too many injuries, to too many key players year after year.

I'm not sure what the coaches staff can do differently, last year everyone on the team was losing weight (fat).

Rick hurt his ankle. He was wearing a boot at the UK game.
