Qb gameplan? Opinions?

I think people seriously underestimate QD. Dude is a gunslinger. Best pure passer we have had here since Ainge and Bray.

I cant spell his first name either! Yes it was Unfair to say hes pm speed but hes closer to that end of the speed spectrum. Now if he could just count as fast as pm we would wouldnt care

Dormady had a better average per carry in Texas large classification high School he had over 4 yards a carry to JG's 2 yards per carry in New Jersey. Neither burnt it up in HS running . Most of the coaches say they are closer to the same style than everyone seems to think.

I think it's probably scripted already. First 2-3 series to QD, then next 2 series to JG. From there, go with the hot hand. If neither stands out, back to QD for the rest of the first half, and maybe repeat the pattern in the 2nd half.

On the other hand, could be primarly QD throughout the game with a certain package of plays specifically queue'd for JG. In other words, more like the Leak-Tebow method, the role assignment way of running 2 QBs.

Will be very interesting to see which happens. Only thing I'd put money on is this: we are almost certain to see both lads tonight.

Can't say what he will do... but what he should do is choose a starter and stick with him until he needs to be pulled or it's mop up time.

His speed doesn't matter. When you keep handing off to Kelly and Ty and the DE end keeps crashing that's when the QB can pull it and take off. That's an automatic 5 yards.

If Option 1 happens and Butch takes QD out and JG comes in and throws a pick 6 that leads to a great comeback for GT I bet Butch will get ran out of town.:popcorn:Volnation be like

If we open up first two drives and go up 14-0, Butch would be an idiot to put in JG. That would literally go against the momentum. But this is Lyle we are talking about.

You are underestimating QD. He had better HS rushing stats than JG.

And even more overestimate him like you. He didn't even pass the ball better than Dobbs in practice last year and has been neck and neck with JG with everyone saying JG has the stronger arm and is just as accurate. He may be great but how in the world can you claim to know how great of a pure passer he is when he has never played against anyone.

Why just pick a starter when one hasn't proven in game or practice he is better? That would be pretty stupid to limit your team when you have two guys with potential.

I think who the best fit at QB is may not come down to actual quarterback play, but fit with the rest of the offense. If we come out and have playmakers making plays for us on the outside I think QD is probably the better fit, however if we are lacking in playmakers and or the oline cant pass protect JG may be able to counter that

Ok so theres a lot of mixed opinions... thats cool. Announcer made a good point. QD should/will know better where his ppl are on the field. Awareness like previously posted. JG's numbers rushing in hs are skewed because he was throwing bombs over everyone or taking really bad sacks. He thought he was superman sometimes got a little crazy.


No Matter what QB. PROTECT THE BALL!!! GO VOLS!

I hate posting during games. Dormady isnt getting help. Gotta step up team. D in a grind. Gotta.dig. need to get some 1st downs by catching the ball.

We haven't changed our offense at all, it's built for a running qb. It should be JG and no one else.

Also, for those saying QD can move... you're wrong. He moves like Manning.

Dormady isn't the reason we're losing. He hasn't carried the team but he isn't making mistakes either.

Defense has to step up. They're looking terrible.
