QB competition..

Virtually none of the "Riley haters" on here has actually said "I dislike the kid".... It was evident and generally taken based on the content and criticism within their posts.

I admit to "clinging to" media reports ... and direct quotes from the coaches and players.....and video interviews of the coaches and players... and radio commentary from formers players who attended practices....

finally somebody does...KUDOS TO YOU KBVOL...and when i said that those guys were just telling folk what they wanted to hear, oh the outcry from fergy fans.

NEEDLESS TO SAY NONE OF THEM ARE AROUND TO APOLOGIZE OR SAY THEY WERE HORRIBLY WRONG NOW.

Guess you don't pick up in sarcasm eh? Also, you showed yourself to be a hypocrite yesterday when you quoted Erik Ainge from TSR to help "validate" your thoughts/opinion on Fergy...the same Erik Ainge that you said a couple months ago was not a legitimate source of information when he was quoted on VN as saying Ferguson was taking first team reps, had a strong arm, etc.

While we're at it, how do you even know that Riley is leaving the team? Since you don't believe any of the sources covering the team and indeed Coach Jones himself, how do you know? You been speaking to Riley? Riley's Dad? Dave Hart? Do tell.

Oops! funny thing is Butch Jones and the QB coach were also quoted word for word in Ainge's article, but hey it's you.

And Riley's gone for now. Keep hope alive. Hopefully ur not one of those rednecks another poster referred too, but you are really sounding like one of them.

The Fergy show is over. I don't need to reveal my sources, just know I was correct all along.

We know that Worley has a "command presence"--that was evident last year and is nice thing. But the problem is his "talent presence"--getting the ball to receivers, making plays with his legs. Unfortunately, the offense will struggle again this year because the OL is not going to be good.

Riley has what it takes to be an effective game manager. Dobbs has talent and the brains to take us further after this season. Most of us have said that 2015 is the year Butch Jones would start to really pay off as the talent gap closes more.

I'm excited for them both.

No, you were completely wrong all along, even to the point of purposely and completely taking one of Butch's quotes on Riley out of context (I'm being generous here). Your contention/argument was never about Riley quitting or showing a sense of entitlement or even a poor work ethic. It was that he wasn't very good, didn't fit the offense Butch wanted to run and wasn't pushing for the starting QB job. Then, if anyone said otherwise and backed it up with quotes, video, etc, you attacked their sources......the same damn sources you're trying to use to "validate" your points now!

You got issues pal.

issues would be you who had tried this whole back and forth thing the whole time. now u wanna argue your original point, which i knew all along.

You're so damn clueless. Should've known you'd do exactly what you've done here.... act like a jackass teenager, jump up on the table and say "see, see... I told you I was right.... nah nah, nuh nah nah" because a 19 year old kid just made a poor decision for his future and left what will probably prove to be the best opportunity of his young life. But hey, lexkyvol gets lie again and say how right he was. Congrats, helluva man you are.

Gonna go back to dismissing your posts again. Everyone else on here would better enjoy their VN experience if they would follow my lead.

That's just it. He was given the opportunity but for one or more reasons he doesn't qualify for it.

It's evidently because of reasons above the neck. Heard his family, including his grandfather, was really on him to reconsider and go back to UT. But it appears he can't cut it mentally and emotionally. It's a privilege, an honor and a tremendous responsibility to play QB at UT. Has all the physical tools to do it, doesn't measure up emotionally and he's forfeited a life changing opportunity. Sad, but we move on. At the end of the day, I'm a fan of UT, not Riley Ferguson.

Never said he was obligated to tell the fans, but he could have been more considerate to us given that there has been an enormous QB controversy since the beginning of last year. He could of at least said that Ferguson was not mentally ready to be QB or that it wasnt working out for one reason or another. It would have made a ton more sense and prevented hundred of VolNation posts speculating on who our QB was going to be when CBJ knew all along it would not be Ferguson.

Well if it wouldve prevented more posts on VN I guess CBJ should have told us. What an inconsiderate douche he is.

I don't get this. What's all this fuss over a guy that has quit the team. Wish him well and root the guys that will wear the Power T

I swear yall act like Riley was ur arch enemy or something lol. I liked Riley. I still think he was the most talented QB. Just not the most applied.

But guess what? Hes gone now. Move on and stop trying to boost ur e cred when you just lucked into being on the right end by default. None of you knew anything about this being the actual reason for him leaving, but now yall are going to flap ur jaw just because you know it cant be proven wrong now.

FTR, Ive never been a Dobbs or Ferguson "guy", so Ihave no problem with Dobbs winning the job but you all act like he lit teams up last yr to prove ur point.

Contradict yourself much?

Sadly the fans weren't able to boast that Dobbs "lit teams up", but that was only for a lack of decent receivers.

Wait for it...

Nope. Guess you dont know what not being closed minded means. And no it wasn't all the receivers fault lol.

Dobbs might be pretty solid next yr. I dont care who plays as long as they show they can play. Dobbs is more talented than Worley IMO. Does that make me a Dobbs guy? Because I like his ability too. Instead it means that I can look at things in perspective and dont have to pick one side of the fence just for arguments sake. Like I said, I think Dobbs has more talent than Worley, but im fine with Worley starting if he shows he can make things happen.

So do you guys think we'll see Dobbs on the field this season as possibly more than just backup?

i think it's highly possible that he starts. as i have stated many times before, butch knows what he has in Dobbs and now what he has around Dobbs. It's up to Worley to prove he can play just like it was up to Ferguson and Peterman.

and i know the rednecks aren't gonna like this, but Dobbs gets out there and plays ball. if worley does the same, all-around game, then he earns the start and/ or playing time. and i'm fine with that.

Appears Riley wasn't up for it and decided this wasn't for him. It hasn't been reported that CBJ ran him off but rather Riley has decided to leave the program. Looks like a no brainer to me.....Butch held up his end of the bargain and Riley didn't. No hard feelings, too bad it didn't work out, both parties move on.

what internet whores do.....lol

Ok, now this isn't even a fair fight. Are you really this dense? I'm beginning to feel bad because it appears you're a rising 8th grader.

Let's end this now and spare the other posters in this thread. Have fun at summer camp.
