QB Coach options so far

My bold prediction is that Sheridan will become the QB coach, Debord will take over TEs (where he has NFL experience), and Azzani will become ST coordinator.

Oh ok. I hadn't seen that reported. I sort of assumed situations like that and Smart's deal were more the exception than the rule and that someone named head coach usually took over pretty quick.

If Elder were to leave before Jan 1st he would owe a lot more money back to the university.

Don't care what anyone says..it is the one coaching job Peyton himself said he would do.

If I was CBJ, I would not make a hire until I was absolutely sure that PM was not retiring from the NFL.

We would have our pick of QB's every year and therefor QB university will be born!!!

Butch has to name a QB coach as soon as Elder leaves. A coach must be in place no later than Jan 12th.

i think your right on target with Mike Canales I have been saying it for weeks if he wasn't retained at North Texas it would make a lot of sense, watch their interaction after the game their was a lot talk between the two even a point were they walked away and came back. One thing you can say for Butch he brings in people he has has a past working relationship with that he trusts.

I would say Butch has known for a while he needs a true qb coach on staff, not necessarily that Elder would leave but that there would be turnover on the staff. Coach Matthews on his show has been speculating about a true qb coach for a couple of weeks

Also i wouldn't rule out Scot Loeffler i believe he was just let go by vtech and he and Deboard worked together at Michigan and believe he was a candidate for a job under Fulmer in 08 with Deboard.

Where have they worked together? Nothing on their resumes show that they have ever worked at the same places, let alone at the same time.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't there a stipulation where an individual can only be a GA at your school for a specified number of years before you have to replace them or hire them as a coach? I was thinking it was two years at a time.. Maybe I dreamed this up

check around the 1 minute mark of the opening presser the week of north texas he talks about how he is great friend and has known him for a long time, same if you watch the presser after the game his opening remarks are complimenting coach MC

I'm pretty sure that Loefflers last 2 or three stops have resulted in a HC firing or resignation. I'm sure that not all of that is his fault, but it doesn't give me a warm feeling.

it doesn't give me warm feelings ether. a good friend of mine is a Michigan fan with family working inside there athletic department what he has always told me about Loeffler is good qb coach not a very good oc, i haven't done the research but if memory is right i believe your right he was oc at both auburn and v tech .

he has also spoke highly of sheridan

Yes, 2 years

That's what I thought.. Is this not Sheridan's 2nd year?? So we either hire him or he moves on.. I know he has gotten glowing endorsements from several people including Jarrett Guarantono's father.. It seems this is the obvious solution and we all know CBJ loves familiarity

Nick Sheridans ties are in Detroit. His dad is linebackers coach. Our boy Jim Bob Cooter might get promoted to OC. If that happens look for Nick to be given that QB position
