IMO being stubborn about keeping JG at the helm was the biggest mistake all season. I realize that it's easy to blame the QB but he's clearly not capable of generating sufficient offense for Tn to be competitive consistently. Allowing Chryst to get more reps and gel with this offense earlier in the season would I believe made the difference in a few games like South Carolina and possibly Vandy. JG got tons of grace from throwing up a few 50 50 balls successfully. The guy is really is not very dynamic and has NO RUNNING ABILITY. Itll be extremely discouraging to see him at the top of the depth chart next season. Thoughts on the chances are that Pruitt moves to start a freshman next seaon?

Chryst was an insurance policy and program dead end. JG had (has) the chance to be the guy for a few years. All jobs should be open heading into the spring.

JG really stunk up the field today but if you think KC is the answer, you clearly have not been watching. Problem is, we dont have an elite QB who can get rid of the ball, read the D, and fire where they are going to be, not where they are. He is tough but not good. KC gets rid of it faster but also does not do nearly as well with the pressure of not having an OLine to protect him.

Thing is, we just need a good QB. I hope JT shrout is the answer.

He is the better qb and played well for most of the season. He got killed all year but tonight you could see that he was finally starting to shy away from hits and throwing off his back foot every time. With the line we had I don’t think it’s fair to put much blame on him. If the whole team had his heart we would have won more.

They're both bad. I don't think things would have been much different. KC would probably take less sacks but would throw more picks

well said OP. I finally accepted why they started him over Chryst all season. But i do whole heartedly agree that we probably would have picked up about 2 more wins with KC under center. It is what it is and lets pray that Shrout or Maurer is the future. I cant take much more of JG starting, it just hurts to watch it.

But he's just not good enough. He's not even close. If they stick with him we're really sunk because he's the worst QB UT has fielded in my lifetime and I'm 52.

We would of been 4-8 under Chryst. I have zero doubts about that. He’s not playing the game against Auburn JG did. Who’s he beating? SC? He would of just thrown Ints.

I don't understand how anyone comes away from these games thinking Keller Chryst would have made a demonstrable difference for us at QB. Do we go 6-6 instead of 5-7 with Chryst instead? I severely, severely doubt that. I get it, JG is nothing special at all, but it's not like it would have made a difference.

1) What games would we have won with Chryst that we lost this year?
2) Would we have still won the games we did win this year, with Chryst starting instead?

Chryst didnt start because CJP cant afford to let JG transfer and be left with freshman QB's with zero experience behind at deadly bad offensive line.

This.

The oline will be little better next year. It looks like Pruitt is going to sacrifice the first two years in the hopes fhat he can recruit well enough in the meantime to make year 3 a success.

It's a gamble.
