Putting Dobbs NFL debut in PERSPECTIVE

3 of 5 starters on the o-line didn't even play in week 1 including their best guy all-pro center Pouncey. And then the starters only played 1 quarter so Dobbs played with backups the rest of the way. Stop it.

Stop with this myth you trying to perpetuate. We all saw the difference Dobbs makes with the o-line in 2014. Before he started they were giving up sacks at a historic rate. Then he took against Alabama and it got significantly better.

Josh is not the reason the o-line at Tennessee was pathetic the last 3 years. He actually made it look a lot BETTER.

Dobbs was sacked 6x in the 2014 Miz game, so there actually wasn't an instant/significantly improvement there (from the AL game >).

I notice you don't mention anything about the defensive players they went against.

NFL network is suppose to televise all of the preseason games this year. Bad part is they cut from one game to another. And if there is more than two on, you can't follow any of them.

You can get a free 7 day trial of NFL Game Pass and watch out of market Preseason games

I turned the corner on Dobbs last year, and especially watching him on the ESPN show working with Gruden. Very likeable young man. Smart.

My own uninformed observation from his college career was that he was slow to change his decision on who to throw to. Progression was a beat too slow, sometimes two. Not sure if that was because he was being very deliberative, or what. In my view, that was his biggest shortcoming and hope he can get into a rhythm where it is more instinctual for him.

Dobbs looked like he tried too hard to make a big play. He needs to settle down. Aside from the 2 picks he threw in short succession, he was typical Josh Dobbs.

One of his picks was tipped. But he also has to learn to get rid of the ball quicker. He will be fine .

Yes probably worded that wrong. Been a Steelers fan since the 70's. On the Steelers forum they were like jumping off of ledges and slitting wrists over that interception. I said he has never seen a DE zone drop back like that he will learn from it.

And they banned me. Lmao

Surely he's played Madden or NCAA video games. I saw those often on them.

The Falcon's D is not on the same level as the Giants.
Bottom 10 vs Top 10
Dobbs might be catching a break.

During preseason, there are no top ten and bottom 10 defenses. You got a lot of guys jumping in and out competing for a roster spot, and the veterans are getting their chemistry with each other back. Not quite regular season games, but with guys who need to make plays or go home, you get good intensity. But there are no breaks in preseason.

Did u just compare playing Madden and seeing a DE drop back in coverage to playing in the NFL and seeing the same thing? Really, dude? Please tell me u just forgot the blue font.

If he was typical Josh Dobbs, he would have scrambled for a first down. And there will be times he will. But he needs to let his arm get him home. He took a big step in that direction last year. Hopefully he takes a bigger one this year, because I wonder how well Ben hold up this season.

I used to play the crazy climber video game. I dodged flower pots, seagull crap, giant gorillas, and other such craziness to reach the top and fly off hanging onto the bottom of a helicopter.

That in no way would prepare me to try such things in real life.

He also scored a TD with less than a minute left in the half...which is very typical.

Will get many starts this year I'm guessing.
actually in the pic you posted... it would probably amaze people how not abnormal that picture would be for most NFL qb's after practice, especially the ice on his throwing arm/shoulder.

I think Dobbs overthinks the defense or where to go with the football.

Did you see how the giants played mostly 2nd/3rd stringers?

Same as the Steelers playing most of their 2nd and 3rd stringers. Its not like he was out there with Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell playing against the Giants backups. Its was bad on bad like every other rookie who performed week 1 and Dobbs looked like the rest of them.

Missouri also had one of the best defensive lines in college football that year. Their starting defensive ends Shane Ray and Markus Golden are playing in the NFL right now and making plays. Without Dobbs that day, the sack numbers would have been even uglier.

Dobbs putting in work in practice. This is why his teammates supported him so much in the first preseason game after his first TD. They know he can play.

Dobbs this, Dobbs that. He's a great, GREAT young man. With that said, this continual love fest over Dobbs just begs one question: When is D4H having this "HOF's first kid?
