Yes it does. I will have to say, I was impressed with Birmingham in general. It was my first trip there.

I have to share a story about my son (who is 3 and a half). He was really sad that he didn't get to go to the graduation last weekend. It was just my daughter and me. He and she are going to spend a couple of weeks with the grandparents next month in Huntland, TN (near Winchester and the Bama State line). His grandmother was trying to make him feel better about not going to the graduation by telling him that she would take him to Huntsville, AL to see some dinosaur bones during their stay.

Well, he got really excited and was going on about how much fun that would be and how much he liked Alabama. He then paused a beat and said "But they don't have a good football team!"

Words cannot describe how proud I am.

I've got to give that hwy a try, hear lots about it.
Come up and try the Snake (US 421). It's not as long as the Dragon, but it is very challenging. I am betting it has more tight switch backs and continuous sections of turns than the Dragon, but that is just an educated guess. Has anyone driven both?

Sounds like fun.

The Dragon claims 318 turns in 11 miles. Very fun but it gets lots of traffic now. I pulled over to let a sportbike go by - wow, was he flying!

Western NC has lots of great roads in that area.
