We were there for two weeks. Got back Saturday night. My wife is German and my mom is too from the same small German town.

No, I mean, are you from there and then moved to the US? Were you stationed in Germany and met the love of your life and brought her home?

(And I have no idea why I'm asking a complete stranger to tell me his life story, except that it just sounds amazing. Please don't think I'm rude.)

No problem. I was an army brat. Dad served 26 years in the army. When he stationed in Hohenfels he met my mom in 64. I was born in 65. Moved between the US and Germany about every 3 to 4 years.

Dad was stationed back in Hohenfels in 83 and then I met my wife. We dated for about 7 years and got married in 90. Legal wedding was at the court house in Knoxville while I was attending UT. Much easier then getting documents translated and a bunch of red tape in Germany. We went back during the summer of 91 and then got married in the church pictured above.

Got back to Hohenfels working a defense contractor in 95 and stayed for 7 years. Then moved to Ft. Polk and now am in Orlando working for the same company. Worked my way up the chain. Get to go back to Hohenfels on occasion for business and this time was for pure vacation of family and beer.

That's it in a nutshell. :)
