I think if Hart hires an up-and-comer (which is likely to happen) this whole faction in the fanbase doesn't go away. I'm sure Hart realizes this. I think he's a very smart person, and I'm sure this really puts him in a tough position. I was highly critical of Martin and I think that was earned, but I didn't know if he should be fired or not. I'm just not that knowledgable about basketball to make that judgement. Clearly, the only way around this is to hire someone with a proven record.
Also, I don't buy into very good coaching candidates avoiding a school because of writers criticising a school's fanbase even if it's warranted; I think good coaches are confident in their abilities and believe they can be successful. I don't think for one minute a good coach goes into a job thinking, "I wonder if I'll have a job at the end of the year." Anyhow, if I remember correctly there was a fanbase (football) with overly high expectations in the mid-south that seemed to find a coach and do well in spite of all of it. But in a nutshell, money talks. :crazy:
