Put Jon Crompton Back In

You have just lost all credibility. Crompton was TERRIBLE. Period.

That's a shame. Your assessment of my credibility was my whole reason for posting.

I'm with you that Stephens hasn't done a whole lot but it's just ridiculous to suggest we should put Crompton back in...unless of course what you really want is for us to lose every game we have left so Fulmer is definitely fired

The best way I know for us to lose every remaining game is to not score any points. Crompton was benched because the offense wasn't good with him under center. What do you propose doing with the guy under center when the offense isn't any good now?

If Crompton has not played, I wonder if the reports that Clawson wanted to replace him after UCLA are true as reported?

Uhhhhh...change the center?

Neither has looked like an SEC level QB but Stephens has a 123.95 to 95.83 lead in passer rating over Crompton while having 2 more touchdowns (in fewer attempts) as well as having 0 int's to Crompton's 4.

Call it comparing the mediocre but if I had to choose one to play it'd be Stephens in a landslide.

I was thinking more along the lines of Sterling Hinton. Sure he's a bit older but he has been "working like heck" to get one more shot. Or we could post bail for Tony Robinson and the rest of the season is money including an Independence Bowl win.

Stephens has been ineffective. Crompton was in the running for being the worst starting QB UT has ever had.

Crompton was benched because of his bad performance, ( under thrown passes, long passes, fumbles and interceptions. Yes the offensive line did not help him nor are they helping Nick. So as an outsider looking in I have come the the conclusion that the offense is really bad and the coaching staff is no better.

Dear Nick, thank you so much for all you have done for us. You were there when times were tough, and gave us a shoulder to cry on. I really thought we might have something good going, but after four weeks, it just isn't working out. I'm going back to Jon, but hope we can still be friends.

That's right, I said it. Stick the Volunteer pariah back under center. Risk fumbled handoffs or passes to Fulmer in hopes that something might finally click and shake up what is easily the worst offense I have ever seen fielded at UT.

Consider that we are averaging an anemic 17.5 points per game since switching quarterbacks. That number, though terrible, doesn't really tell the whole story, however, as 14 of those points came by the defense, and 10 have come as direct results of turnovers. Even without discounting the meaningless, phantom penalty aided late touchdown last night, that puts the offense responsible for 11.5 per game. How many games is that going to win?

At least with Crompton, there was the possibility of getting better. Right now, I see an offense that doesn't do anything well. Change it back, or change it up, but change it. I actually couldn't believe we kept running the same personel out there last night time and time again to do the same thing, when it obviously wasn't working (and hasn't all season.)Doing the same thing three times in a row and then punting is going to continue to get the same results.

This should answer your idiotic statement

Which spectacular offensive performance should I be examining? The great quarterback rating in a 13 point performance against UNI? The 130 tough yards against MSU? Maybe the 57% completion percentage in a blowout loss to Bama?

Did anybody, at any point, think trotting Nick Stephens out there again and again gave us a shot to win Saturday? To watch our offense perform the way it is performing, with no marked improvement, without wanting to change something is idiotic.

I will repeat it again: the offense is not any better right now than it was against Auburn, which was Crompton's worst game. We just fielded an offense which was able to score 3 points while the game was in contest despite a blocked punt and a fumble recovery on the 5. We have seen scoreboards light up at halftime with 3, 7, 6, and 3 point performances in our last 4 games. Why in God's name would anybody want to keep seeing that?

Vanderbilt's anemic offense managed to score a couple of TDs against Auburn. Our offense is the reason we lost the game. I don't think we earned a first down in the fourth quarter.

Perhaps you have not noticed the interceptions Crapton thru or the fact he does not have the mentality to hand the ball off correctly without resulting in a fumble. He tends to flip a handoff instead of stuffing it the hands of the runner

What more does anyone need to assess inCrompetant's lack of performance. He is absolutely the worst Tennesse qb of all time.
