Suggested by Tim Irwin this morning on the show with Jimmy. Sounds good to me. Backs get momentum and quicker benefit of OL push...when we are getting it. Is this "old man thinking" or worth considering?

I hate the pistol/ shotgun crap when running the ball. And bring back the full back.
Two schools of thought you can excelerate to the hole quicker under center. Or in the gun you can allow plays to develop in front of you and have options.

Only issue I have with putting the QB under center is you start telegraphing your plays if you aren't careful and it becomes easier for defenses to read run versus pass.

But in the gun, defense gets that extra second or two to move at the runner. Look, I never played the game. Tim Irwin has and I do wonder what the next "new thing" will be.

Ok but a problem with JG is that his footwork stinks, this is part of the reason they love to line him up in the gun.

That under center bootleg with the TE in the flats. That play action ala Russell Wilson to get the DB's eyes in the backfield, then hit them deep. Ok, I'll co-sign.

whatever the coaches decide is fine with me. Everybody has their preferences but it seems like there is less chance of a fumble from the gun.

Yeah because what we’ve been doing hasn’t worked?

I would expect Jim C. To show some different wrinkles in this game. I like the idea of a full back and JG under center but Chaney is going set up the offense that best suits JG.

JG has not practiced under center. BJ ;)
Didn't we did bobble a snap from under center during that cringe possession, trying to run out the clock late 4th qtr verse USCe, that left us with a 4th & 27 down?

Been 5 years and he still can't handle a snap!!!

Only scenario in which this is acceptable is if Crouch lines up at fullback. Otherwise it's a no go for me
