If you had the ability to hire a head football coach for the University of Tennessee with no cap on money. Who would it be?

Peyton Manning. At least as a position coach or coordinator. That should at least have major offensive weapons lining up to learn from him. Though, figure he would be "too tough" on all the delicate little sensitive flowers that are a lot of today's high schoolers who see criticism as abuse.

Doesn't matter. The first time we have to punt the ball folks will want to fire him. No sense it going top shelf. At the rate our buyouts are piling up, we could only afford a moderately successful high school coach anyway.

Saban (Lord please forgive me for what I just said)….....but even with Saban it would still take 3+ years to really get going.
Wouldn’t take Saban 2 years to “really get it going”. His 2nd year at Bama he went 12-2, up from 7-6 his first year. His third year he freaking won the national title.

No, he’d take this year’s team that Pruitt is about to win 2-3 games with and he’d win 8-9 imho.

EDIT: just came to my senses. Wth am I saying? The greatest college football coach ever, Nick Saban, couldn’t get lowly Tennessee bowl eligible in 50 years....we’re a lost cause no matter who coaches here, period.

On that note...I really think well coached high school players today are receptive to criticism and correction, eager to learn. It's the gifted that are hard to reach. Big fish little pond mentality

Logical choice...but when Saban took over Alabama...Bama still had the reputation. I think what Dabo has done is awesome.
Dabo would be sweet as well.......Saban has some kind of special Hoo Doo going on.....he has went thru quite a few coaches and they are still rollin'...….and he definitely has the fans here in Alabama under his spell!
