Seriously, one play he threw a laser towards the dirt where only the receiver could get it for a first down, then next play threw into triple coverage on the goal line. Saw some staring down of receivers... basically a scare crow with a helmet on. I expect a couple of turnovers out of him

His role will be not to fumble. I suppose they might work in a couple of very short passing plays. A screen or two.

But with this kind of time, his entire purposes is to take the ball from the center and give it to someone else.

You should honestly have more confidence in this game now than before, knowing TN's past with backups lol. He'll be ALL-SEC caliber this weekend.

Yeah, but there's a lot of tape for you on this guy. He's not going to beat you with the passing game, that seems to be the consensus.

Seems pretty obvious that Florida's game plan will be to grind out drives with 4 yard runs, take time off the clock, and rely on our defense to try to keep us in it.

True. But our defense is depleted, which is a huge checkmark in your favor. And it's not even role players that are hurt, it's our best players. Sutton out for the season most likely, Darrin Kirkland more than likely out for UF, JRM is banged up, Latroy Lewis struggling with injuries. I would much rather face Luke Del Rio with our defense at 100%, than Austin Appleby with our best defenders sitting on the bench,

That is the job or every QB, but it's a tall task for a lot of them!

My one hope (well, two really)...

UT's offense seems to stall, but also seems to have times when it clicks and gets "chunk yardage". When it works, we score quickly. I'm hoping that our offense can have moments like this and put 14-17 points up against a UF defense that commands respect.

UT's defense has actually been really good this year. Hoping the massive losses to injury leave enough talent and scheme to hold UF to very minimal points.

I will be happy if UT wins this ugly in an offensive pillow fight.

So he stares down the receivers. Our secondary won't turn their head to find the ball so he will be fine. Not trying to sound smart, but little ole' Ohio's QB did well against us. I expect the same from Floriduh.

When Peterman played for us, he was a certain type of player and now at Pitt, he is much improved.
Appleby might be much improved by a new coaching staff and a change of scenery.

Don't sleep on the other true Freshman, Kyle Trask. He was heads and shoulders better than Franks in the Spring, and while Franks caught him some in Fall Camp, Trask still showed more accuracy and precision.

Weird thing about Trask, he played sparingly in High School as second string. 5-star kid D'Eriq King started in front of him, a dual threat guy, which is the style of offense the High School ran, while Trask is a drop-back, pro-style guy. King signed with TCU or Houston, after posting just ridiculous HS stats.

But McElwain and Nuss have raved about Trask since he hit campus. I wouldn't be surprised if he's #2 behind Appleby this week.

This is where his age and experience comes in. While at Purdue, he somehow escaped road games at Ohio State and Michigan, but he did play at Nebraska, Iowa and a few others like this. He visited but didn't play at Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Notre Dame.

Having said that, Neyland will be different. Advantage UT. However, for UF, it could be worse. This could be an 18 year-old kid making his first start ever.
