Purdue lifts weight

And we ran the ball 62 times as opposed to Purdue's 33...

And that stat alone doesn't indicate to you success running the ball/getting a push?

I'll type slowly so you can follow. Even if you double Purdue's carries to 66 (which then takes away from their passing game) their YPC average comes out to 186 yards. About 40% less than UT and just 6 more than Small alone had, on 26 carries.

Slower didn’t make it any more sensible. First off, they abandoned the run early in order to play catch up...they were just as effective, maybe even more, running early in the game....still basically equaling our total yards in 23 less plays...an average of 7.8 yards per play to our 6.1. They owned our front four...and aside from Jabari Small’s long run in the second half...their stats look even better than they already do...if you’re gonna play the hypothetical. We were whipped upfront...

you know you can't argue with an orange goggled stat boy.
They think our OL is better than bama and DL better than Georgia. remember the old adage
There are Lies.
Damn Lies.
And statistics

They showed up ready to play and we seemed to be thrown-off by that. It's like our guys were expecting them to roll over and were surprised when they didn't. They looked older and more mature and seemed to have more depth on their roster. There can be a big difference in the physical development of a male athlete during the college years. We were younger, but faster and more athletic. But their physicality seemed to rattle us and we didn't have the poise to overcome it and execute.

At least that's how it looked to me.
They looked like they have had some stability in their program with the same coach for a few years.

Purdue players were noticeably bigger than ours but watching the Georgia and Alabama games, their players are basically the same size wise as ours and obviously they are doing something right so Idk...gotta say tho I felt Purdue kept hitting hard and it wore our defense down toward the end.

We’re good in the weight room. Just need to stay from that Tennessee BBQ. Instantly puts on 10 lbs

We are bigger AND faster than PU.

They still whipped us on both sides of the ball in the trenches...and their QB had all day to throw.

This is...my boy Hooker had his 1st really off day passing in the 2nd and 3rd quarters (we only scored 10 points combined) and he was terribly inaccurate for that half of the game. It happens. The other 2 quarters he was the usual Hooker and threw 5 TDs and 300+ yards.

We had WR WIDE...WIDE open almost every snap in Q2 and Q3 but he flat could not get them the ball...and was running for his life half the time. If Hooker had the accuracy he has shown all season for all 4 quarters of this game....its Missouri all over again. 63 points on the board with 35 at the half and game over. He had a BAD day and still passed for almost 400yds with 5TDs and zero picks ...

when you don't sub and run every play for a whole game.... you get skinny. There is nothing to do in sub zero temps but lift.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster."

Having lived in Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri, I can say that the size/strength factor is driving by farm work and ethnicities. There is nothing but farm work in the mid west and these kids work on farms from a young age. That gives them work ethic and strength. Not strength from an "I do heavy squats" mentality. Im talking functional strength. Something peculiar I noticed was the last names of the people up north. Down south were all Johnson's, Smiths, Browns etc. Up north, their last names spell out like a spilled bowl of alphabet soup. Wanznizki, Zocowlski, etc. Lots of eastern European and Scandinavian bloodlines. People built for strength, not speed.
This happened in 1997 or 1998 against Nebraska, and some big farm boys.

The fat layer under the skin is completely different that our deer in the south also .
I saw some black tail deer out in California and they were larger @bd apparently smarter. They do not bash onto the road and do not get hit by cars and trucks. The density all seem s greater than the stupi white tail deer here in Tennessee.

For some reason I see this a whole lot with "up north teams" They just overall seem to be more massive than guys from "down here"
I think it's bc of the brand of football that has to be played up North due to the weather. If u can't run the ball & stop the run, you're screwed once the weather changes. So u better recruit some bigger bodies. South is generally about speed, speed, & more speed. The climate down here is perfect for basketball on turf. I would say if u need some big physical players recruit up North, if u want explosive athletes recruit in the South.
