Hooker isn’t a dink and dunk passer. We’ve had a depleted/injured online that hasn’t given him optimal time to throw, but when he’s had the time he’s been pretty stinking accurate. I think that coach is too focused on numbers that don’t paint the whole picture.

Just guessing here, as there are many much more informed coaches on the board but I see Purdue playing soft shell coverage to try and keep action in front of them and negate big offensive plays by UT offense.

40% of deep pass completions is still pretty good. Although it seems like he has a much higher percentage than that on deep passes. I guess Purdue will have to find out the hard way like everyone else.

Welp, 4 out of 10 bombs is about as good as we need. So we throw 10 and get 28 pts. Then we throw short and run it and get 28 more. Sound about right?

That would be very stupid as we love to throw the quick pass in the flat and let the WRs run after catch with a the other perimeter players blocking.

While you are technically correct, he is sneaky in his shady. The guy said once he throws past 10 yards he is a 40% passer. Where is he getting this from? Also, do you consider a 15 or 20 yard pass a deep ball? Yes he was complimentary toward us. But make no mistake, he used cleverness to take a shot at Hooker.
