Bills signed Matt Darr yesterday. That gives the Vols FIVE active punters in the NFL: 2 Colquitts, Darr, Palardy, Daniel.

And no, I have no idea how UT keeps putting great punters out there when didn't even have a true special teams coach for a while, and elite punters are not exactly abundant in recruiting.

Just one more strange phenomenon around The Hill these days.

We've done a lot of punting the last decade

Yes I would say those are all excellent points. Our punters probably come out of college with the experience of a 3rd year NFL veteran. Not sure how I missed that LOL

Umm putting kickers and punters in the NFL is not new to UT we have always had good ones. I cant remember the last time we didn't have at least one in the league.

jr, post: 16104883, member: 463"]we need to get back to being Wide Receiver U[

I remember one year, just for giggles, I comprised a list of an imaginary NFL team that fielded UT grads. I was able to complete a full team, which includes offense, defense & special teams with former U.T. players.

I had Shuler at QB. Reggie White on defense. Carl Pickens & Alvin Harper as receivers. I had Faud as the kicker. I had Al Wilson as one of the linebackers. etc. etc. etc...

Would be nice for us to get back to the point of having 50 players in the NFL; especially now that the NFL has 32 teams.
