I don't know what happened at this school, but....
West Georgia:
The NCAA Division II Committee on Infractions has placed the University of West Georgia on four years of probation and has imposed recruiting
restrictions, among other penalties, for multiple major violations that occurred from 2004 through the 2008-09 academic year.
The penalties also include a one-year post-season ban for 2009-10 for all sports, a condition the university already had imposed.
The penalties in this case include:
•Public reprimand and censure.
•Four years of probation from January 21, 2010 to January 20, 2014.
•Vacation of all wins in which ineligible student-athletes competed.
•Two-year show-cause order for the former head coach (January 21, 2010, to January 20, 2012).
•Two-year show-cause order for the former director of athletics (January 21, 2010, to January 20, 2012).
•Post-season ban for all of the university’s athletics teams during the 2009-10 academic year (self-imposed by the university).
•Reduction in off-campus recruiting opportunities and official paid visits.
•Athletics financial aid reductions (self-imposed by the university).
•The university shall pay a $2,500 penalty.
After a little digging, turns out our own Daryl Dickey('86), has signed on as AD and HC to weather the storm. He was not the AD when the violations occured. Daryl went 0-10 in his first season. Hang in there, once a vol always a Vol.
