"Pundits" Believe Kentucky Will Have A Better Record Than Tennessee

It will depend entirely on the QB play IMO. If the chosen QB progresses quickly, we can outperform expectations. But, if we struggle at that position, and even worse have a revolving door, we could be a .500 team.

I personally think we will be better than expected at QB and overall, but only time will tell.

Oh no! A lot of folk in here thought he should've replaced Dobbs last yr so Dormady better be on point.

It's an embarrassment to UT football. In yr 5 we shouldn't even be discussing the possibility of being worse than UK. This isn't the first writer to discuss it either.

I just don't see it unless Butch just completely falls apart this season.

https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/k...ef-kentucky-better-record-sec-east-tennessee/

Kentucky has 3 cupcakes and they get a mediocre Louisville at home. A team they beat last year. They also draw probably the two worst teams out of the west.

They also beat USCe and Vandy last year (you can't count on UT doing that) and they beat Missouri last year as well.

Even if they lose to both UGA and UF but they manage to beat UT then how is it unbelievable? Heck even if they lose to UGA, UF AND UT, they may still have a better record. Sure, Kentucky can also have a misstep but so can UT. I just don't think it's that unbelievable.

It may be improbable, but it's not impossible. If we can lose to bad SCAR and Vandy teams with our season on the line, we can lose to UK in Lexington. The game doesn't set up well in our schedule, and we'll get their best shot. Odds are we win, but IDT it's a gimme.

I don't know why Vol fans perpetuate the silly notion that we have been odds-on favorites the past 2 seasons. Last year, yes. But the year before, the expectations were pretty modest. A few people had us as a dark horse pick, no doubt hoping to be right more than really believing they would be. No one took such predictions seriously. That's what this Kentucky article is. And no one will take it seriously, either.

At least someone notices.

I have to say, this is the most entertaining board I have ever looked at.

Haha, he's goofy. The last 5 years was coming out of the darkest periods in our history. We tripped over our deeks a few times during our growing pains. That time is over, youll see. Vanderbilt is a gimmie game and deep down even you know it.

You are correct, this board is very entertaining.

You call a game that we have lost 3 of the last 5 years a gimme? Lol, times change bud.

Especially when you get to pick the range. :) What were you mumbling about when we won 2 of the previous 3? Florida streak I bet? And thanks...for calling me BUD! :huggy:

Congrats on the win last year. Don't get used to it. Honest question - does it bother Vandy fans to hear Rocky Top played in Bridgestone during Preds games? Particularly when virtually the whole place sings along?

I honestly felt kinda bad for Zach Cunningham the night he was there...same night as Josh Dobbs and JRM. There was quite a difference in the ovations given to the UT players.

I just really don't understand how we could be much worst then we were last year. Yeah we have a new quarterback but that could be for the better. John kelly isn't really much of a step down from Kamara. Yeah we lost Barnett and vereen but the dline is still really balanced and super talented. Losing Sutton hurt though, were going to miss him big time, but he didn't hardly play last year so we about already know what this year should hold. It all falls down to quarterback play.

We literally lost to them the last time we played. So saying "that time is over" because , "Go Vols thats why" doesnt cut it.

I want Vandy to be a gimme game like old times just like every other vols fan and i get that its painful for those vols fans with daughters named peyton amd dogs named phil to admit but it doesnt matter, facts are facts. We have lost to Vandy 3 of the last 5 years. So the vols are going to have to prove that it has returned to its rightful place as a gimme game over the course of the next few seasons. Until then, CBJs record agaisnt Vandy is 2-2 and saying its a gimme game "because i say so" aint gunna cut it.

Instead of guessing what i may or may not ramble about to validate your argument, lwts just pick the most reasonable range....CBJ as head coach = 2-2 against Vandy. If that is the definition of a gimme game to Vols game we needs sum edumacation up in here.

And to think some of us would argue with an alabama fan if they called the vols a gimme game. Lol

Kentucky will not have more wins, just as they do not have as many teeth.

I predict UK will have five wins this year.

Your picture reminds me of a riddle I heard a long time ago... what do you have when there are 32 Kentuckians standing together on the front porch? ... a full set of teeth..:clapping:

Pretty sure things worked out to well for Zach Cunningham. A win over Tennessee in his last season and drafted to the nfl. Im sure those things are a tad bid sweeter than a loud ovation at a pred game.

Sadly it seems are buying into the Champions of Life things with stuff like this. Cunningham proved it on the field when it mattered and here we are mocking him over Dobbs getting a louder ovation at a pred game.

Some of us are reasonable man. Sucks but it will take a few years to put vandy back in its rightful place. Looks like we got a head start today though with 3 plauers gone, whats up with that man?

I noticed a total domination on our card the previous two seasons. When Butch was 2-1 against them the usual suspects preached "beat Florida". You see trends where you see em. My agenda sees the positive trends and Freak pays you to do the opposite. :wink2:

Uhm, i have know idea what you are talking abouy getting paid. Yeah, alot of people preached beat Florida .....because we considered Vandy a gimme game. Unfortunately this past season we were proven wrong. Sadly, thats what happens when you take an SEC East Championship caliber team and lose to two losing teams.

Let's set the record straight.

When the Vols can have a D performance against a team that gives an A performance and still win that is a gimmie game.

Sure we have been laying eggs, even in the worst years of our history, have come out winners against these scrub teams.

Ky and Vandy are scrub teams that's why to lose to them is such an embarrassment.

I'll give them some credit( out of respect for the athletes and coaches), they have raised their game, but it's not Vandy's or KY's fault we have lost to them, it our own fault.

Historic low and play bad vs historic high and play well = a nail biter. What else would you call that other than a gimmie game that we blew.

Call CBJ out for blowing gimmie games. Don't pretend that those two are at a level we should consider competition.

For the record SC is a gimmie also. Apparently Muschump has CBJ's number, but that don't change that they are a scrub program. As soon as Spurrier recognized it, he walked away and headed back to Fl.

Ky, Vandy, and SX not gimmie games? You guys been believing too much off the internet. Did the world start spinning the other way? Nope. They are scrub teams because that have inferior talent and will be out matched this year by the Vols.

They were up, we were down...somebody had to win.
