I've been watching a lot of the SEC Network and ESPNU this week, as well as checking out the blogs and websites from the college football "experts". If they are to be believed, Texas A&M poses huge match up problems for us.

aTM's offensive coordinator has transformed Trevor Knight into Tom Rogers Newton and John Chavis has turned their defense into the Steel Curtain.

However, if you look at the games the story isn't as clear.

UCLA played a horrible game and still had a chance to win at the end.

aTm kicked five field goals to beat the Barn.

The Fayetteville Pigs win their game if they punch it in twice in the Red Zone.

South Carolina was only down one score LATE in the 4th quarter.

Yet, I keep hearing that this matchup is tougher for us than our next game with the Red Elephants.

Thoughts?

We buzzsaw our way through A&M on our way to our ultimate goal. They are simply standing in our way. It's Alasalami or bust. Move aside A&M.

I honestly think it comes down to our team's energy.

If this team comes out and plays with passion for 60 minutes, we could have this put away in the 3rd.

If they come out and play an uninspired first half like they have all season, we are going to have a tough time clawing back. This appears to be the best team we've played all season.

I'm going to have plenty of liquor on hand.

My favorite is the side by side for Barnett vs Garrett for both total and SEC and they still can't give Barnett any credit for being good

I'm sure Barnett hasn't been paying attention to that. Doubtful he brings his A Game.

I tend to concur with you OP. It's kind of the same story with us. The spin doctors just blah, blah, blah.

I will say that against Arkansas on one goal line stand A&M stopped Ark. seven times. They ran three plays and got a penalty making it first down. On the other end they stopped them four times. So the A&M defense dictated that win.

I do keep hearing that everyone is waiting for the bone head plays by Knight to show up. I hope it's Saturday.

Back to back travel games are hard on the players (1 1/2 travel to the A&M stadium), if they can outlast Texas A&M then the Bama gas tank could be 1/2 full...even though its at home....

I know whar you're saying but I don't think it's passion but lack of attention to detail in the first half. Just dumb mistakes like drops, out of position on defense, missed assignments on both sides of the ball and often trying to do to much. I hope they come out and each person just do their job. If so we will be tough for anyone to handle.
But I agree we can't play bad in the first half.

We certainly have a shot. To me, we're playing with house money, to some degree. It's an important game, but not more important than last two weeks or Bama. So, you'd think that may give us advantage to just come out loose and attack right out of the gate. If we do that, think we'll win. If we follow trending slow start pattern, it's gonna be TOUGH, because they can bring qb pressure and will rival Neyland in terms of noise.

They have done this every game...

Whoever we play next is our toughest match up and most important game of the year..

Then after we win, all of a sudden...that team sucks, and we should have destroyed them by 7 more touchdowns then we did..

There is not another team in the HISTORY of football, who has went 5-0 with 3 wins over ranked teams, and stayed at the same ranking they held to start the season.(unless of course they started at #1 or 2 to begin with)

Let us hope that the playoff committee is not as biased as the AP.. Or we could go undefeated with 2 wins over bama and end up not going to the playoffs at all..

Most of the Pundits and Experts first priority is ratings and clicks. They sensationalize stuff to get ratings and reactions. Everyone gives Paul Finebaum the business but at least he is honest, he panders, instigates, and does anything for ratings.
Truth is if Tennesse plays anything close to their capabilities they will beat aTm and give the Bammers a run as well.
