Pump the brakes

Saban went 6-6 in year 1. I’m disappointed like the next guy but 5-7 was where most outside Knoxville saw us finishing. We’re gonna be aight

Seriously, how many times does it have to be pointed out that Saban didn't lose a game by more than 7 points in his first year at Alabama?

Y’all can be negative. It ain’t gonna help anything. We can go back and forth. Pruitt isn’t Saban. No one will be successful as Saban probably ever. I’m just saying if the arguably the most successful coach of all time (by the time it’s said and done) could barely win six inheriting a better situation then give Pruitt a break for the love of all things orange

Yeah. But it included a very embarrassing loss to La Monroe. Hey, at least we beat our OOC cup cakes!

And as has also been pointed out, Kirby didn't do so hot his first year at uga either. At the same time, both those coaches brought in the no. 1 recruiting class in the nation and have big recruiting advantages over us. It will take Pruitt more time, but I believe he can get there.

We know what you’re saying.

It’s been said, oh I don’t know, somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 to 6 thousand times in the last few years.

Alabama only lost two games by more than double digits the previous year without Saban and even those were pretty close. Pruitt inherited a far worse situation. Go drink or something. The delirious fan base is just as repetitive as the Saban stats. We need to just accept we suck right now and give the man some time

And yet people in here stay whining and tweeting crap at players and recruits and calling for coaches to be fired.

If only we had improved from first game to Vandy, things would be a lot brighter . Saw the same mistakes game 12 as game one- not cool . Maybe when he has more of his recruits in here team will improve markedly. Maybe.

Ahh.... the Saban only won 6 his first year at Bama take.

A classic that never gets old.

And Urbie only won one more than Zook did his first year . An Harbaugh killed it his first year at Michigan but just can't get over that hump. And Kirby actually regressed his first year at UG. Mason has improved Vandy about 3 wins in 5 years

The point is , you can't measure a coach in year one. Especially when , the schedule is one of the toughest in the country , recruiting last season was a recovery effort at best , and last season was a 4 win season that featured the worst defense in UT his and one of the worst offenses in our history

Add to that that we had no offensive line, no established running backs , no established QB , and converted some undersized and undertalented guys from a spread to power and a 43 to a 34. So 5 wins is really an improvement when you judge against other coaches first year efforts and other rebuilds.

I would look to see 8 or 9 wins next season if he follows the mold of other successful rebuilds and give him a chance to add 20 or so scholarship athletes to the roster . If there is not a marked improvement next season , then maybe he is not the man

Butch Jones is not responsible for six 25+ point losses.

Yes he most certainly is a HUGE part of them. You can spin it however your narrative leads you. But if you dont recognize just what Butch Jones did to this program then you are either completely ignorant or a straight up Pruitt hater.
