You're obviously not factoring the CBS/SEC TV contract into that which is worth $55 million per year through 2024. To say that the Big Ten has more than the SEC is questionable at best - more likely it's close to the same. Also, you didn't answer the question. Butch Jones is making $4.1 million per year (base salary) from Tennessee. Who in their right mind is going to more than match that for him right now and why would they? He has done a good job here but has not exactly performed a miracle either.

Also, name one Big Ten school who doesn't already have a much better coach than Butch Jones who he would leave Tennessee for? In other words, don't say Ohio St or Michigan.

I obviously am factoring that in. The current TV deals that the BigTen has with JUST with ESPN and Fox pay more per school ($31.4 million/per school, per year) than the entire SEC revenue disbursement package that includes all of the SEC TV contracts, bowl money and NCAA Tournament revenues ($31.2 million per school, per year).

Then the B10 schools get B10 Network money and the other revenues. Their schools are making far more er year than SEC schools.

Don't believe me? Then allow me to point out a few articles to illustrate my point: College Sports: Report: Big Ten signs lucrative TV deal to push revenue totals past SEC, Big 12Â* | SportsDay

Ohio State-Michigan likely on Fox and 7 things to know about Big Ten's new TV deal - CBSSports.com

New Deals With Fox, ESPN And CBS Nearly Triple Big Ten Television Revenue

As you can read in those stories, B10 schools are not hurting for cash. If Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota or anyone else wants to go get a coach, money is no problem.

Who would offer Butch Jones more than the $4.1 million he's making at UT? Any school that needs a coach and wants to hire someone who has proven they can build a roster from nothing to an SEC contender. That's what other schools see in Butch.

They don't care that he lost to South Carolina. A coach that takes over a program in shambles and has them as a preseason top-10 team in four years is very, very attractive to an AD that also has a football program in shambles.

... I don't see there being mutual interest from any school in the Big Ten... Thanks for the dissertation though!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the lesson of this thread is: don't go against DeerPark when college football financials are on the line. He will whup you like an errant dog, and not even breathe hard doing it.

If you're ignoring the idea that he could leave, then you're being very, very naive.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but as I said back during the summer, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he does.

can we only hope - Shoop and Martinez leave 1st ?

I guess the fact the defense is DISGUSTING and we could lose to Missouri keeps you positive?
