I was visiting a church yesterday and met a penn state grad. I had to sit and listen to him talk and talk and talk. He went on about the myth of "SEC speed" and how what little that does exist is no match for the Big 10's physicality. What could I say in response? i had to just sit there and take it. With all due respect to the morotorium, Thank You Phil Fulmer.

Tell him to watch replays of the national championship game...even though it would really suck to have to use UF to make your point

He's got us in the head to head... but needs to stop talking about the "myth of the SEC." Point out conference bowl records in any number of recent years, current year included.

The myth of the big 10(11) is much more eggregious, case in point, the exposure of Michigan/OSU on a national stage.

Moreover, while Tennessee has been down the past few years, look at PSU's record over that time. Didn't they have a 3-8 campaign buried in there somewhere.... and while we went 5-6 last year, we still managed to beat a top 5 team on the road, lest we forget.

SEC myth? Who won the SEC over a big powerful pyhsical Big Ten team this year? That should have been your answer.

I started racking my brains for a time we beat them, but I couldnt bring myself to mention our first game under lights because it was so long ago

He knows deep down in is heart, that PSU wants no part of the SEC all season long.

If that is the problem, then heck yes you can use UF. If the problem is UT vs Psu, then...you really dont have any bragging rights, unless you play "we won a title in '98, when was the last time you did?"

Maybe let him know that we have beaten Michigan more times than they have in the last 10 years.

In one try.

I always wonder how PSU fans react to Michigan.

my response would have been, to simply say:
"well my friend, i would you just rather say thank you and move on. Your Welcome for the fumble recovery for a TD to win the game, consider it a late Christmas resent, happy holidays".

I expect more from you that a ridiculous statment like that, hardly every story I post runs down our program. I dont live in a closet in East Tennessee for one thing, I live in Texas and have several friends that graduated from variety of different schools. Another thing, explain to me how sharing a painful experience I had with a Penn State fan is "running down our program"?

you dont know the circumstance and YES I did have to sit there and listen. Tell me how to be positive about our recent bowl games?
